It's been done before. In fact, I've actually heard of some guys using a water-cooled system OC theirs to 5.3 Ghz.

I remember they did this back on an episode of The Screen Savers. I can't quite remember what happened, but I think they had some problems with condensation.

I've watched several of these videos, do any do a load test, ever? I have never seen one. I would be much more impressed to see how fast PSCS can apply AmphiSoft Convolution Shaman filter to a 5600x3373 image, than to see a partial pc display a small window showing temps and MHz

Well...
Yup. I have seen guys do it before. And i think that this PC really isnt the fastest.
And I also think that the 7.6Ghz processor wasnt stable very long. I heard somewhere that the guy who did it (7.6Ghz)
fried his motherboard in the beginning.
But this overclocking isnt amazing and indeed really not needed eigther. I mean modern CPUs are fast enough.

Plus it isnt amazing because it is possible to overclock some systems up to 5x the speed (and even more).
For example... my old classmate managed to clock his old Pentium II 400Mhz to 1.8Ghz. And it acted quite stable.
Ofcourse he had to destroy the CPU to build a new cooling on it. dozingoff.gif

EDIT:
Nope I said it wrong... THISguy fried his motherboard a bit.
He got about 6.3Ghz.

Wow, that's insane. I don't see any other point in doing it... other than just to do it... confused.gif I'm fine at 3.0Ghz.

233 C? Can we say "over-heating"?

Or am I just crazy?

Really, that surely can't be right.

Now, if someone could just overclock a Conroe that far...

temp sensor doesnt do negative values, it should say -22C.

LN2 cooling is, well, time limited. Phase change can be run 24/7 and so can liquid chilling.
