I have been working on this for using on the up and coming snow mods for SA.
It's mainly a testbed for me to try and get decent looking tracks in game and something fun to create.
The tracks give a good sense that they are real ones and the snowmobile is reasonable to use as well.

Release version in my favourite colour scheme :

It's amazing the differance the right colour scheme can make to a vehicle.

GTAGarage releasage of V1.

Don't panic if the tracks do not show up veiwing it in GGMM, because they don't.

looking good though, nice idea... how do you get the tracks in the snow to change, is that achieved with a different .col file or what?

Yep, front and rear. You can't really make out the rear monshock in the pics.
I could have made the rear tracks about an extra 3rd longer but would have lost the rear suspension due to how the quads works, the suspension was the winning choice.

@Ducati996: it's just parked on the sand at Santa Maria Beach, the same effect happens if used in the desert sands.
Scratch that comment, I get what youre on about now. I have no idea how you change the treadmarks on different surfaces, but I think it is related to the map cols/materials somewhere.

@Pickalini: No steering as of yet, it was sacrificed for the suspension. Might try getting something working for V2. wink.gif
Something with more detailed suspension along the lines of Ducati996's excellent Bandito replacement perhaps.

Awesome! I just checked it out and its very cool. I think if you moved the weight bias forward in the handling line, it will stop the roll from side to side, my experience w/ 3 wheelers.

Some in game pics of it on the snowy mountain...
You can see in the second one, CJ likes them so much hes gotta purple woody!

There is a snow mod that you can download from at GTAGarage, click here to get it.
But it's a three part download. It's very good though, it makes the mountain and area around it a lot more fun IMO, and it adds more diversity to the map.

And my favorite color scheme is the green on the lighter green

Well, i was just looking around in the .dff and i see how you set it up, and that looks like it was a lot of work and testing to get it right. Great job man. I like the new keychain! And whats with so many copys of the forkehs? Thats the only thing that got me...

He didn't say here, but it is just a quad rip off pretty much. The body is mainly the SA quad. He said he's workin on a more detailed one i think, can't wait for that one, but this one is great until then.
Although, I'm still waiting on that proper sub you were talking about pinky!

well if you ever get tired of your sand, pickalini gave a link for a snow mod... bbq.gif

EDIT!

i just had an idea, if you cant make the treads longer going backwards... then why not extend the front of them underneath the seat eh? just a thought. alien.gif
