Tried to start a new game with v2 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. It was a no-go.
Started a new game with v1 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. Started without any problems.
Loaded a v2 file with v1 exe using v2 scripts on a heavily modded gta3.img. No problems encountered.

So the problem lies with the v2 exe which makes the game unmoddable.

PS : I didn't use a no-cd crack.

Awesome sh*t. This is nothing but good news.

So what I need (and every other V2 owner) to mod is simply a V1 exe then. Now to find one. Could anyone post one? Please? lol

SA v2 is moddable, with the v1 .exe. I recently bought the game (not a week ago) and read this thread last night. Well, I found the executable for download somewhere and went about installing the Yenko Camaro. Here's the results:

So, there is a way around the lock that prevents modding, and I do have access to the gta_sa.exe us 2nd Ed owners need...

Yes its known but the problem is it is illegal according to the EULA of SA to provide links and people with a copy of the exe file which also falls under the forums rules of no illegal material like that.

Maybe it is time to lock this topic and pin this information so everyone can see it right away.

This topic has answered questions for those who are willing to read it, so it seems the only people left posting here are those who want to break our rules. I've just deleted 3 posts, there's the numerous ones adam edited earlier, so in total it adds up to a lot of people not actually bothering to read what the hell we're saying to them.

You cannot use these forums for distributing (including posting of links) copies of the GTA: San Andreas executable.
