Air Carrier Suances v0.6 BETA UPDATED

I've updated too much my Cougar and to take a break I've started to experiment with interesting results as you can see.

In esence, consists in an REALLY BIG aircraft with a platform that can carry lot of vehicles.

Collision model works perfectly - cars get well "stopped". The only chance to lose a car when flying is make a high-G movement in Y axis.

I've replaced the Hydra, so the landings and takeoffs are very smooth and great for carrying objects, and can be done the both ways (vertical and horizontal, I recommend first...) . (And we have missiles, too)

I'll try to update as fast as I can working along with the textures of the Cougar to release both at same time, aproximately

Improvements in this version :

Suances Transport and Rescue v 0.6 BETA

INSTRUCTIONS


Follow these instructions or you'll lose cars everytime...

1. Vertical airbone. put the trusters vertically and use Full Throttle.
2. When you are at a certain altitude, put smoothly the trusters to about 45 degrees, when the aircraft begins to "fall" and gain speed, ZERO throttle since now, the aircraft can fly "itself" at high speed, dont use throttle. If you use full throttle, the high acceleration will drop the cars...
3. Don't make very high G movements in Y axis... despite you would see cars in zero gravity if you have hability to catch'em again (that's fun)
4. The use of A and D keys isn't needed, to turn simply use Q and E smoothly.
5. To land simply put thrusters to 90 degrees again.

Using landing gear will deploy a platform to download cars from carrier, and reduce the horizontal speed A LOT.

When placing cars in the platform, try as possible to get them separately from each other, if they touch when flying, they could start to act strangely.

Rememeber this is a testing version so all the aspects of the model aren't anything but great...

First times maybe it's easy to drop cars or something... be patient. Now I can perfectly carry 3 Linerunners and 2 Cougars from Las Venturas to Los Santos

When I read the title, I thought you had left out the craft, in aircraft, but, I guess it was never going to be a boat.

Looking awesome dude... you've just rested my mind on the col file for my carrier too.. I gather the trick for holding things is to set the surfaces in the col file to something like aluminium?

I'll try to release a beta; tomorrow I have to drive 200 kms far with my parents and I won't come back till night so I suposse I'll release it tomorrow night. smile.gif

So its a flying saucer vehicle carrier? Hmm bit out there but nice job on making it carry vehicles like that, especially ones that stay in flight.

i was just thinking about the textures for it, could you
maybe texture the ramp differently then the rest of the
aircraft? so it's really visible where to drive up on smile.gif
but it has to be said, excellent idea

I'm guessing he used a col editor of some sort, to give the vehicle a surface for which cars are not meant to slide on.

I'm still waiting on that col editor from Steve-M to recol some stuff...

Well as an experienced editor of this sort of thing...Lets see a video of it actually moving forwards, anyone who has the chinook knows its fine when you go straight up..but moving forwards if another thing.
