The Angel would be available the same way as the Freeway is.

And it would be possible to make the Faggio avaialble right away in Portland, but activating any other bike will activate all of them.

because changing a bikes class is soooo (!!!!) hard.

Anyways I have changed my mind about this. I definatly think that the bikes should stay as they are. But then again, how hard could it be to make a few faggio spawns in Portland?

Can we either end this or continue it here with reasonable arguments from either side, possibly including parked point maps.

Bearing in mind of course that:

AFAIK uses locally spawning cars to randomly select between, so if there are no specific parked bikes in a biking zone, there may be some anyway.

Or that may be completely wrong.

Note: "It's more fun" or "Cos I want one" or anything similar don't count as points, it should add to the game in some way, otherwise it's fine as it is.

after the last island is unlocked, cant u script it so some bikes can b parked around on the other islands then?

Check out the vehicles topic for my long list of suggestions regarding the bikes spawning. I've tried to make it so that everyone can be happy with it, although it's difficult to satisfy everyone's desires. All of the bikes are available on every island, but there is only one of each bike (except for the Faggio) driving around on Portland.

I don't know whether it's really worth waiting until after SSV is unlocked - why not just have bikes parked on Staunton and SSV from the very beginning (obviously more than one of each so they are more readily available than on Portland), reflecting the reward for unlocking Staunton (all other suggestions of mine still apply tounge.gif !)?

I noticed a topic on another forum regarding the modification and quite a few people appeared to be having problems with the modification. I think one downfall of the release I last downloaded was that the readme was very short and not very informative. Whilst it did have links to this forum, not everyone will want to spend time trailing through the topics to find solutions to their problems. Perhaps you could include a simple html page which includes the FAQ for the next release.

I've been writing a fairly detailed html readme - it hasn't been updated since the Beta 1 release!

It includes pretty much everything the Beta 1 one did - brief overview of the mod, then brief installation instructions (might make these more detailed once the installer's finalised), a list of common problems and solutions (taken from the FAQ topic), and a full team list including contributions and links to profiles (pretty much the same as the first post of the Meet The Team topic).

Currently I'm waiting on permission to use the GTAF skin for the readme - hopefully I'll get the ok, and then I might see if I can get some hosting for it so people can check it out so far and give some feedback icon14.gif .

We'll see what happens wink.gif .

That's right - here is where you can grab a sneak peek at the new html readme so far. The GTAF graphics have been ok'ed, so the only things likely to change are the team list (people and/or contributions), and perhaps the installation info/common problems. Enjoy - any feedback is welcome smile.gif !

PS - This html file will be included in the final (or maybe even the next - depending on what Craig decides) version of v6, along with an internet shortcut to this forum.

Also, thanks to Craig for kindly hosting this so everyone can see it wink.gif .

EDIT - Just noticed a minor error in the common problems table (see the last two cells in the answer column), as well as with largopredator's name - I changed the word red to FF0000 at some stage, and that meant in these 3 instances as well. I've fixed it in my version - Craig, here is the source code if you want to update the online version:

Hello all, could I make another suggestion?

Could you please ask Squidy if you could include his Mp3Control with the official version of LC? incredibly useful if you have Mp3 tracks and I can't think of any objections one could have against it's inclusion.

Seeing my emergency exit fix on the checklist, I should probably note something. What I did was to edit the texture, which is more like a workaround. What really needs to be done is to edit the model to fix the texture placement. My method gets rid of the 'split in half' look, but is still isn't optimal.

Right now, it looks like this:

@LCSurvivor - sounds good. I'm not really familiar with the mod, but from the description at that link, it sounds really good. I'd definitely like to see that included in the official version, if it's ok with Squiddy icon14.gif .

There's no reason to include the MP3 randomizer in the official release. Sure it improves the way the audio is played, but the downside is it displays the filename of the mp3 instead of the channel name and it never goes away. Some people might not like that.

And implementing the mp3 tool is just as easy for LC as it is for Vice, so there's no reason at all to include it. It's a nice tool, but not our place to distribute it.

It is a separate mod, not specifically made for LC (and even if it was it would be unofficial) so although some people may like it and use it, that's there choice. We also don't have permission to distribute it. And changing that behaviour would be easy if you had the source.

The new installer will feature the ability to install GTA3 audio from a hard-drive location as well as from your GTA3 CD, and as well as an auto install, will also include a custom or manual install function.

This table is fairly self-explanatory and reads as follows:
- The first column states the issue being addressed.  If it is purple then it is linked to a post with details about the issue, download links, etc.
- The second column serves 2 main purposes:
1. So you guys know who to thank when all this is done, and
2. So Craig knows who to contact to get a particular update.
- The third column simply indicates whether or not the issue has been solved.
- The fourth column is for Craig to complete: does he have a copy of the update or not?
- The fifth column outlines some extra information on a particular fix.  This is helpful for the people involved to make sure they don't forget anything.
- The last column is for Craig to adjust as he physically adds each item to the update package.

It's getting close. There's a few minor things I need from Choofy (who I just got back in contact with after about a month's break). The big thing I need for the next release is a new installer. So I need to send a message CTM's way. The coding bugs at this point are all minor (I think) so that shouldn't be a problem.

Oh yeah, and there's still quite a few peds to convert, but I think we can skip to v7 without them.

So the next update should have everything that's ticked off (including Kon's 2 things which you don't have yet - I'm waiting to see if Choofy can fix that glitch and I haven't heard back from him yet confused.gif ), as well as the complete col files, some more of Choofy's work (which I'm also waiting to hear about), VC features, and some bugs (actually, most of the bugs on the bugs list are final, and I'm hoping that most can be fixed for the next full update). Also, won't the next version (after v6) be Beta3 v1? I was under the impression that Beta1 was getting the map and vehicles converted, Beta2 was the scm (primarily the missions, which are now pretty much done, except for a few bugs) and a few other odds and ends, and Beta3 will be what's left. Just a thought - what do you think?

EDIT - Oops, forgot to mention the animation fix from AK-73, when it's finalised.

And there's something else to be considered, regarding the bridge-jump trick to get to Staunton at the start of the game - you are able to drive through the tunnels to get to SSV (just like you are supposed to be). However, there's no traffic until you get to the fork in the tunnel at SSV (turn left to go to the airport, or go straight ahead to come out in Wichita Gardens). I don't know if you want to make traffic spawn there - it looks a bit more realistic then.

And, once you get to SSV, you are still able to access helicopters (the maverick at the airport and the LCPD maverick near the police station) and a dodo (the one near the helipad at the airport). I think that we should get rid of the choppers because it makes getting hidden packages way too easy. As for the dodo, it should be left in because it's there in GTA3 icon14.gif . Do you think that you could code that into the next update as well smile.gif ?

I think if you cheat to get to SSV early, then you should be able to fly those helicopters early as well.

I totally agree with you Craig, it was that way in all other GTA games. Anyways I don't think it matters if you can have a heli to fly around when you already snuck into the other cities. Although the skimmer. which is docked near asuka's condo. Can't be there until SSV i think. Hmm... now I'm having second thoughts.

If you make the helis available in Staunten before SSV is unlocked, whats the point? Maybe just leave the helis as they are.

@Craig - well, technically, it's not cheating. It can be done within the game parameters without the need to enter a cheat, despite the fact it doesn't occur during the natural course of the game wink.gif .

@Thomas - choppers aren't available on Staunton until you unlock SSV, and neither is the Skimmer. The only way to get a chopper early is to use the bridge jump trick and drive to SSV. The appearance of the choppers will occur as per the results of the poll (there's a link to them in the checklist, and there's a link to the checklist in the first post of this topic) icon14.gif .
