Yes great work, this runs perfect on my system. It looks just as good as ingame. My only question is there a way to see interior world objects in the map viewer. I mean like cjs house interior or anything else. In using this tool and zmod2 I managed to find the objects that i need to scale my map mod properly, if i could identify some interior world objects now I may try messing with the real time reflections the mirrors use and i need to see what the uv extension is on these objects.

No, not yet. ATM it only loads files from the gta3.img, not gta_int.img, but will fix that soon.

Hopefully we will be able to see Liberty City then, cause im missing some parts that i dont know the name of in the marco bistros interior, which i need to find for the mod im doing for GTA:LC, ive put it aside for now, hopefully ill be able to find out the files in furture updates of the map veiwer

there are other ways to figure that out, for instance looking through the ide and ipl files searching for coords of the object in the ipls can help you out greatly, if you know the coords to the bistro. once you have it's coords, you find them in notepad or gtapad or whatever you use, which give you the interior's dff name. You then find the DFF in the corrosponding IDE and the next name over is the txd it uses. smile.gif

Meh, the viewer (0.5a) doesn't work with GTA3 anymore (namely with old RW 3.0 dffs). I f*cked it up when I added multi UV support for SA cars, will be fixed in the next version.

Progress update and a bunch of screenshots: Multiple IMGs are supported now, so interiors are rendered as well. Also, I load and show enex makers, but only a few of them work as expected, I still have to find out how exactly the jumps are done.

Wow, this is really good work steve!
No problems, and userfriendly in my opinion. No I can go hunting for interesting objects tounge.gif

A question about the interiors: How do you find them?
I flew far away over and under the map with max draw distance settings but only found Liberty City and the fun war world from Zero.
Or is the new version just not released yet?

//EDIT: Sorry, I didn't look at the date + time of your post dontgetit.gif

Thanks for this great work,

nubbel

Kewl - Nice job mate

Can u add a Distance Slider which can be set and if u set it to 100.0 then it will shows the Objects in a radius camera + 1000.0 and if its 0.0 then nothin and 50.0 just 500.0 ? For a higher FPS it would be great

Hehe, well, yesterday I found interiors I've never seen before, although I completed the game on the PS2, so you can't say all of them are spoilers. tounge.gif

@J-Fox.GEMM: You can change the draw distance by pressing + and - on the numpad.

@nubbel: No, not released yet.

You can find Liberty City by going to the End of the runway of SF Airport (Where all the water is) and then keep on going up using Page Up while looking towards the desert. Accellerate with Shift + LMB until you see it in front of you. Zero's RC Course is near by.

There must be 2 barns in the sky
These are directly above San Fierro
Though it is hard to tell where exactly you are up there
I head to the Crack factory in San Fierro then zoom out with full
draw distance while facing the big red railway bridge

SMG:
Some names of TXD's & DFF's in the Bistro
Anything with LIB, Liberty or Bistro in the title

Upstairs:
BREAK_S_bins.txd, DYN_Table_2.dff, CJ_BAR.txd, CJ_BEER_TAPS_1.dff
CJ_TILL_Break.txd, DYN_FF_Till.dff, LEE_Object_11.dff, Lee_Object01.dff,
bistro_blok.dff
there may be others

Downstairs kitchen: it's pretty tricky trying to focus in there
Bistro_bar.dff (?) & bistro.txd

Other Stuff in basement:
DYN_BOX_Pile_3.dff, DYN_Box_Pile_1, Break_S_box.txd, DYN_dumpster.dff,
Break_street1.txd, CJ_Bins2.txd, CJ_dump1_low01.dff, CJ_Bins.txd, DYN_box_pile.dff, Binnt08_LA.dff, LABins01_la.txd
and others

Thanx again for the Map Viewer - great wee tool indeed smile.gif

New version released, featuring LODs, interiors and many other goodies:

[ Download ]

user posted image

QUOTE (version history)
Version 0.5 Alpha 2 (31.07.05)
- bugfix for object focusing
- multiple IMG archives supported
- interior rendering (press I)
- enex marker rendering (only visual yet)
- different status display modes
- SA LODs supported
- bounding sphere rendering removed; F7 toggles LODs now
- switching off streaming (F6) will no longer load every single available
object; instead it will only keep the loaded files in memory (no unloading)
- various other bugfixes and improvements

QUOTE (notes)
LOD replacement is only implemented for San Andreas yet, for the other games
only hi-res objects are rendered.

If interior mode is disabled (default), only interiors 0 and 13 are rendered;
if enabled (I) all others are rendered. Only the lowest byte of the interior
ID is considered (SanAn uses higer values as flags to group the objects,
probably for render priority).

Press M to cycle through the 4 available status display modes. Mode 1 displays
the current number of loaded item definitions, instances and streamed files in
the window title; mode 2 shows the camera position; mode 3 shows the game time
and whether interiors are enabled; mode 4 shows the name of the detected game
version and the directory.

This is bloody great! cookie.gif

Is there any chance you can add a screen capture to it? With the files being saved in the map viewer folder? As i do alot of texture changes to building and stuff, so take reference pictures to look back on, to check what texture goes where.

Anyway keep up the great work, its a great little tool smile.gif

Sorry I am confused could you explain the exact position you are in to get to Liberty City and do you need the interior button on to see LC and how long does it take to get to LC.

And does anyone know how to get to the Baggage Claim and Francis International Airport interior and the Andromada interior and the Shamal interior in the SA Map Viewer I know where the Shamal Interior and Andromada interior are position on the map but don't know if I am exactly in the right place and if I need the interior button on.

Please anyone help if you can I would really like to check out these interiors.

Thank you Steve-M that really helped me out with the Liberty City but I am having trouble with the Andromada interior trying to find it and i did indeed look at the coordinates and got totally lost. Could you help me out with that and could you send me the coordinates to the Shamal Interior and Francis International Airport interior please.
