[REL] LightWave DFF Exporter plugin

GTAGarage is a bit messy at the moment, so i'm hosting it myself for now.

Regardless, I feel that the plugin is ready for a release.
DOWNLOAD
DOWNLOAD (till GTAGarage approves)
It exports EVERYTHING, refelctions, textures, any number of uvs, etc

Even if you dont use LightWave, i've wrote quite a bit of info in the readme about SA cars, might be worth a read. Like about different wheels all around.

Theres a SAMPLE SCENE included. I'd appreciate if someone tried to export this scene right away. Use the sample scene for reference.
Also i've included a tool to extract COL data from existing models. I dont think any col editors load it, but my exporter needs collision to work.


Note that this is an exporter only!

Lovely work. The sample works great in lightwave 8... lightwave 7 is giving me the finger though.

i'm hoping one of you guys that are using this plugin can help me out. i have lw 8.0 when i add the plugin it doesn't show up in the additional plugins menu. i've tried it a few times now with the same results. i also downloaded that dll for system32 folder but it didn't help. are you supposed to get some kind of confirmation when adding the plugin?

make sure you are in Layout and not Modeler. This is a Layout plugin. It should show up in the Edit Plugins as "Layout Command"

erm.. what iŽm asking me..
  • why are my normals f*cked up when i export a car.
  • why materials w/o diffuse map are white.
  • why SA doesnŽt copy the wheel to all dummies.

edit2: iŽm trying out your method with the null objects right now.
for the screenshots above, i used an other method but hey..i ran tounge2.gif
i made my dummies in Modeler, not Layout. i opened layout panel(f7) , righ-click on eg. door_lr_ok and then thereŽs a popup with "parent". i chose the door_lr_dummy at the parent dropdown menu and made this with all my objects. well a bit confusing but it worked 0o

edit3: erm.. car now works but pivots are not there where they should be. but i moved them to the right places o_O dummies(null objects^^) too. confusing ... normals are gone ingame.. ph34r.gif

some questions ...are there dummies on the model already if i open an old vc car??and why must i add nulls???

im new into modeling..

and how do i make a alien ive made in lightwave movable with bones??

When i press Export to DFF v0,1 error says 'Crazy fool, no objects in the scene.' So i need something to open, then export.. Or not ?

is it right that lightwave will crash if in want to save a imported 3ds model, which isnt a vehicle
i imported a model i made(no car), when exporting it lightwave just crashes

must it be a car to export it to dff?
