Well I can't explain the mystical "rotating land mass" problem but I will admit I've seen it before, and not with the SOL mod. A year ago when I was working on the I420 mod for VC, I had this problem crop up a couple of times in the dock area. And I must admit I found it kind of fun, doing 100 mph and you had a 50-50 chance the land was in place, otherwise it was driving off into the ocean to drown a horrible, horrible death.

I know how to make a land masses rotate, I found this out with GTA3.

this could be fun to add this somewhere, A bridge maybe or a merry-go-round. smile.gif

I was thinking of adding a fair ground somewhere.

But with version 43v5. unless you didnt follow the readme, you could have problems.

If you use older patches, then you could have problems.

here is some info on my try at the new SOL i downloaded (the patch)
1.when i go to the party do not ride the motercycle you will probley crash
2. Oh and while on the subject of motercycles they are pretty hard to get off of so that mod was a little to strong i think
3.The cars now have a little extra push to them and i was laughing my head off about this 1 when you press the hosrn when driving the car shoots out fire and you get a boost of speed but if you decide to go back and see what happen to the person that was in the fire you will just see black.
4. The begining where the mafia is talking they are just Black! @_@ and also in other cut scenes with the mafia they are black
5. POLICE Car looking (its driving me batty@_@)

A restaurant with a huge knife icon rotating above it, when you crash into it you explode... tounge.gif

@Keith: The Cruiser's a bit weird now, reflection-wise, and the windshield is not fixed by giving it a 70% transparant material. I saw that ingame the windshield is indestructable too. I'll put it on FTP asap, and then I'm gonna work on my personal conversion, meant for the SA engine, possibly for SOL too... smile.gif Jester's converted and on FTP, we could release that with the next version. confused.gif

EDIT: This is what I'm working on now, it has a 3D exhaust (some bugs, easy fix), a 3D engine (a bug, easy fix), SA body texture, the roof (a bug, easy fix), and the damn white windshield. mad.gif Stupid windshield wrecking this beauty. This one I'm most proud of, I like it. smile.gif

I've made some changes to some of the models and textures around the airport and broken texture
for Phils Place.

I will release a models update on GTAGarage, This is for those who are able to find and replace old, with
the new models, (GTA3.img) using imgtool.

I have also tested the mod on a 1.8Ghz laptop, and speed wise seems to work very well.

Anyhow, I want to find a way around the 2 wanted stars problem, If the game crashes on getting
3 stars from just having 2 wanted stars, I wonder if there is a way to skip having 3 and 5 stars.

Just having 1, 2, 4 and 6 stars, Tux do you have any ideas on this?

I'll assume you're handling a bunch of things through the scm; why not set up a thread
that checks the wanted level? Set it so that if the game sets a wanted level of three,
immediately set it to four, and if it gets set to five, set it immediately to six.

Just a thought. I'm probably just sleep deprived... tounge2.gif

I could give that a go, Set it to 4 and leave it be, that would solve the problem.

Another update for the 14th April 06 - On Gta Garage.

Quick post; I've added back all the Garages, Pickups, Vehicle locations and save points
for VC.

I have also decided to release some new textures and a model to fix some
problems with Phils place and airport unfinished textures.

There are 4 files (in the models folder) to replace in your SOL gta3.img
file, I'm going on the basis you know how to use Imgtool, All you need to do
is find and replace the old files with the newer versions, in this models
release.

If you not sure how to do the above, ask on the Public Release forum in mapping.

i'm uploading a update to the tampa. have you installed dmagic1 wheel mod? this and the clover need it.

carcols.dat for the clover:

IDEA! select ALL the polygons in the windscreen (except for the road tax sticker) and detach them, then re-atach them. it should work, glass has to be the last load of polygons.

As I said before, replace any slot you want with another car, but please not the ones I have already completed, it took me 1 hour to convert every single car. So choose a slot under the 'Yet to be done:' title for your car. smile.gif

Now I'm first gonna test the SA Rhino some more, it should work. Reserve the slots fast please, I wanna finish the rest of the bunch.

are you trying to push me off the team? you look to have used every single car
and bike slot, it bad enough that you seem to be "borrowing" silver007's cars, because that list looks like a modifyed copy of silver007's mod, there is NO WAY you have converted them yourself in this space of time.

i can tell from a mile off that some of the car slots won't work, and will have the wrong sounds. for christsake, you are replacing sports cars with saloons.

if that went into SOL, this would happen:

a) it wouldn't actually work.
B) everything i have done would be overwritten.
C) i will delete everything on the FTP, and leave the mod.

EDIT: jesus, some of the cars you say you have converted don't exist.

Dude, chill the f*ck out! I never was on overwriting your work, hence why I want your cars to replace the slots. I tested every single car and they work, only the handling isn't right for the cars yet. What are you on about, damn, man. I can put every single DFF if you want, hell I can post pictures of every single converted car. Converting cars isn't that hard, here's what I did, a noob in converting can't make this up right:

Remove SA only-parts, rename 'part_ok' to 'part_hi_ok' and 'part_dam' to 'part_hi_dam'.

Then I made one huge TXD of 1 MB with all textures, which I thought'd crash the engine, but it didn't. If you don't believe me, f*ck you, I've got nothing to prove to you. I think this mod can't use stressed people too much. Take a drink, and relax. Don't be such a f*cking baby. Just relax, dude, I'm tired of your constant rage, take a pill... whatsthat.gif

@trains: Now I'm really pissed, I'm putting alot of my free time in this mod, and if you don't believe me, I'll just leave this damn community and go do Keith a favor, instead of the f*cking community. Keith's trust in me isn't wrong. Screw you, too.

That is a piss poor attitued to have for one another thing this team ( The Core Team that is) has been working together dispite our locations and differences with out so much as an inflamitory word to the other. Most of us have become good friends because of this mod it is ashame that you couldn't do the same as well. If you want to leave the team so be it and you can go and bad mouth us just like every one else that has a chip on their shoulder or hates us for saying it like it is. We are the premier Mod Team in my eyes and others tend to agree with my assesment. Keith had done everything he has promised to do so far with the current form of the mod and that is a bloody fact.
All other team members past and present are still friends with us in one way or another or contribute when time allows. But you are being childish.
Another thing we don't sit in front of the our comptuters reading and posting on the fourms every 30 or 40 seconds.

And as for your remark of us being Bumbling Stumbling Morons I for one don't find it offensive since I tend to be a Bumbling Stumbling Moron for the most part but I can't sit by and watch you bad mouth my mates that is crossing the line. That was rude of you to say since no one here has badmouthed you YET. Your FTP access has been terminated. Your models will be deleted from my server as well. Personally you can cry and whine all you want but even if you become a member again down the line you will be denied access PERIOD. hmm now that i let out my pissed offness i will say i will watch this mod and post ocasinoly but i mean come on were just teenagers (me and mothership) lay off we may have a big f*ckin mouth but when we are pissed we are pissed.



now back to the topic: Hope to see some new islands or places to explore LOL MML and LC or feakin slowing me down to a stand still at times but i drive that nice helicpoter a little to much to complain about game speed.
