Quick tut for ppl who want to add rare cars to spawn as traffic or customize which car you want your gang to drive.

Open your vehicles.IDE file with notepad in dat directory of San Andreas.

You see the long list of all the vehciles in the game. Search which vehciles you want to spawn as traffic.

Lets do the quad, FBI Truck, and SWAT tank.

Skip down until u see the name "quad" scan to the right of it to the column called Class. In the class column of quad, it already says normal, so thats good. They column to right of Class is the FRQ column, or frequent. Ist basicly the frequency of the vehciles, how often does it spawn.

In this case, the quad has a 4 value for FRQ, change that to 10. Open your cargrp.DAT file with notepad. In this file, the list of the car groups are horizontal, from left to right. The title of the group is at the far right, or end of the group list. This is where is says which vechiles is driven by what group of ppl. Find the group called:
# POPCYCLE_GROUP_FARMERS
The last vehciles in that group should be petro, add a comma after petro and space once. write quad for the quad bike and make save. Done and donner.

Remeber each vehciles has a certain codename, like Swat Tank has swatvan. Follow the same tut for fbitruck and swatvan as the quad. Remeber, when a vehcile's class column says ignore instead of worker or normal, and you want it to spawn in traffic, erase it and type in one of the following:
-normal
-worker
-executive
-richfamily
-poorfamily
-big
-motorcycle (for motorbikes)
theres taxi if u feel creative and want the vehciles to be a taxi with a taxi driver and stuff.

If u want realistic, for dozer, for class type worker, frq as 10, put in
# POPCYCLE_GROUP_WORKERS

So u can put worker vehciles to spawn in worker areas and same for others.

Now to make your own gang drive around in rare cars or any car, make sure the car is already modified in vehciles.IDE file.

Now in cargrp.dat file and go down to (on right side) and go to Gang 2 column, your gang, now go to left of gang 2 and after voodoo add a comma, space once and type what car you want your gang to drive, I wrote quad tounge.gif You can add multiple new gang cars.

EDIT* Some screens to help you edit cargrps.dat for adding cars to your gang:


Before:

Look at gang 2, this is your grove street gang, in this column in cargrps file in data directory:

Now go to the far left of gang 2 and shows the 3 cars that your gang drives:

Now just add what vehciles you want your gang to drive, I added slamvan and quad bike =D

*Dont forget guys to try the same with boats. I made so that people drive in addition to regular boats, the vortex, skimmer and launch.

Thanks for the info ... Having a lot of fun with it ...

However, I've hit one snag thus far; I can't get the rhino to spawn as traffic ... Also, my game crashes when it is put into cargrp and I change views too quickly ... Not a problem for any other vehicle, so far, though ...

Spawning planes as traffic is quite humorous smile.gif

Tried the Andromeda? Maybe that'd be cool. Or maybe even the AT400 would fit on the streets tounge.gif

Its best not to try police vehciles, they might screw up. Only police vehciles you can try is Swat Tank and FBI truck. Im gonna try adding the Skimmer as boat.

Try doing helicopters and see if the peds will lift off!

They will lift off, but they rarely get more than a few feet off the ground before coming back down ...

what is the difference between vehicles.ide and cargp.dat?

if I example, want CHEETAHs driven by people in countryside then I changed the class to NORMAL, freq to 10, do I still need to add CHEETAH to # POPCYCLE_GROUP_FARMERS???

or should I only add it into POPCYLCE thing? or viceversa?

another question : what must I do to spawn EUROS in San Fierro streets?

Vehciles.dat organizes the details and info on the vehciles. Cargrps file tell what group of peds drive it. If i want a cheetah on teh country then yes, add it to the farmers group. For a euros in San Fierro, Im guessing add it to the rich or business class. Each city shares the same classes.

And no it doesnt affect main.scm and doesnt need a new game.

POPCYCLE_GROUP_FARMERS is one whole thing....

This is great, thank you. I am still learning, and I have a question.

How would you go about "decreasing" the number of police vehicles on the road? I don't want to get rid of plice cruisers altogether, but I want to make them spawn as rare as, say, an Infernus. Would it work if I just adjusted the frequency? Uh, nevermind, this is too good, I am just going to try it smile.gif

I've reduced the frequency of police vehicles and copbikes, but they are still spawning everywhere.....any thoughts?

I never really tried that. Try doing the frequency. But it can be possible that something like that could be hardcoded into the .exe program.

Dont forget guys to try the same with boats. I made so that people drive in addition to regular boats, the vortex, skimmer and launch.

It seems that you need to edit the popcycle.dat file

and change the COPS column to a lower number than "100"%

Oh and anyone know if the AT400 is jackable? I couldnt reach the doors to see! tounge.gif
