Since I just got my computer to play PC games again (thanks to The_Miker), I'd like to play some PC games but I'm not sure what ones I should get. I already have San Andreas so don't go and recommend that. tounge.gif

darth, it's not so much my PC. I have a Pentium 4, but my internet (Broadband) connection doesn't stay up enough to play online games. It craps out after like ten minutes. I've tried. I have to 'reboot' the internet every so often. My computers fine. And our cable/internet provider swears they aren't doing anything. dozingoff.gif

What is a steal is counter-strike 1.6, even if your bad the game is so competitive and fun, I have a blast modding all the skins. But if you have a budget video card, I wouldn't recommend getting newer games as they run really bad on lower end pc's.

old games that are fun!
Solder of Fortune 2
Counter-Strike 1.6
Call of Duty
Unreal Tournament 2004

I'm getting Postal 2 and Still Life. I'm still looking for some good games, none of these have really interested me.

Play the origional Unreal Tournament, back before we had all these newfangled vehicles and melee weapon, we had a chainsaw, an airhammer, a translocator, and a pistol. AND WE LIKED IT!

Definately check out any of the Blizzard PC games, StarCraft, WarCraft, or Diablo.

Also check out Dungeon Keeper, not the second one, it sucks.

The Age of Empires series is an excellent buy.

The origional Half-Life back before the gravity gun. If you think Half-Life 2 was hard just wait till you go toe-to-toe with a Gargantua with only a crowbar and a shotgun.

The origional Doom even though I'm really bad at it because I'm a wuss. I just cower in the corner with the shotgun and wait for someone to come at me. I know, sad isn't it?

Full Throttle, Grim Fandango, Space Quest, even Leisure Suit Larry (Back when it didn't suck) are some excellent adventure titles.

Lemmings! You must play Lemmings! Or the Worms games, cheap but well worth your while.

Anyway I think I've contributed more than the others because I've done more than name the 5 newest and coolest FPS games for the PC.

Black & White - you will love playing god
Medival: total war - its like a moving risk-like board game where you can acutally control the armys
showgun: total war - predecesor to Medival: total war. still fun as hell to play
Carmageddon 3 TDR - slightly old, but still very fun

This guys on the ball. If you're into classic strategy and stuff, also consider 'Starcraft' and 'Dungeon Keeper 2'. Sim City is also classic (of course, the Sims 2 is out which is probably better, but I haven't played it yet). smile.gif

Don't need fancy graphics when you've got excellent gameplay and addictability. wink.gif

Go here and download Liero. It's like Worms but without turns, and there's a lot of weapons. Best of all - it's free.

The graphics are pretty shoddy and it's old but it's really addictive and worth a try.

Also, there's a download to get blood levels up to 32750%. Well worth a look.

My thoughts exactly. Also Halo is pretty awesome on PC for those of us without Xbox.

Freelancer - A fairly old Space Sim, but well worth playing, lots of cool mods out for it as well.

Command & Conquer Red Alert 2 - A game that is well worth getting, one of the original Westwood C&C games before EA took control.

Deus Ex / Deus Ex: Invisible War - A brilliant series of first person shooters, where your actions have consequences on your future, and what happens around you.

FarCry - You need to get this for the graphics, if anything at all smile.gif

Star Wars - Knights of The Old Republic 1 & 2. They are cheap, and have the best story ever put in a game. The best of it all is, that it's STAR WARS!! Also, i'd recommend UT2k4, for online play (runs great on lower end pc's too), Max Payne 2, and Counter-Strike.
