Hey,

I play on a soft-modded Xbox. I have GTA3 on my harddrive, and it runs just fine from the harddrive. I have tried to edit the "handling.cfg" file, to change the accel and top-speed. I can edit just fine, and save it too. I check the file afterwards, and the changes are there. All good. But the weird thing is, the changes has no effect in the game whatsoever! The cars remain at default handling, no matter what I change in the handling.cfg file. I am VERY confused about this.. Is this file not used in the Xbox version? Is the game getting the handling settings somewhere else?

I tried with Vice City too - same deal. I have tried from saved games. Tried starting a new game. Tried removing old saves, and then start new game. Nothing works!

Am I missing something obvious? suicidal.gif

Delete the file ending with .CAP.FINAL in the root directory of your game. The next time you play the game, it will rebuild the file with all changes you've made.

Works for both GTA3 and VC.
