well actually it is...it was originaly my m8s mums car. shes the worst driver u will ever meet. they were on the motorway 1day on their way to go and part exchange this for another car and i guess the revved it a lil too high. it threw a con-rod witch chipped a piston and made a hole in the block its also siezed. lol my m8s mum is wack!

so they gave me the car 4 nothing because the RAC man told them it would cost over 1000 2 put another engine in it and he couldnt work out what was wrong with it.

so i bought a second hand engine from a scrappy(85) new plugs, gaskets, a few bolts and a new clutch ect (130) and now i have everything i need to get it working. on the weekend ill be putting the sump back on and then ill be cleaning the head and putting that back on. then ill be puttin the engine back in the car. so there you have it, my first car waiting for me to turn 17 or i could sell it and use some on the money on another car. there was a bmw on ebay with a blown head gasket 200 buy it now i was thinking about.

Man, nothing cracks me up more than seeing GTA-Freak 2004's (or something like that) erm...ride.

I should be getting around to posting some pictures of mine once I get my new tires in, lets see if I can do a full mod list....

2004 Chevy Silverado Z71 Extended Cab 5.3L V8 Silver Birch Metallic
mods:
16" Mickey thompson classic locks on dunlop mud rovers 285.75.16 (soon to be toyo proxes S/t 275.70.16)
ford torsion bar keys
K&n 77 series intake kit and descreened MAF
wait4meperformanc tuned PCM also a HPP3 looking to sell...
eledelbrock ceramic shorty headers, true dual 2.5" piping to 2 flowech cutouts, magnaflow 14568 DI/DO to 2.5" pipe split 4 ways to 4 16x3" SS tips
toff spray in bed liner with a soft, roll up toneau cover
westin bed rails and westin nerf bars, both stainless
stainless steel brush guard and tailight guards and fender trim
bugflector2, husky mud guards for the front and back tires
new z71 stickers for the back (stock ones relocated to over front tire)
chrome door handles, mirror covers, 3rd brake light cover, and tailgate handle
pilot racing pedals and a cheap steering wheel cover that matches the truck but is torn to sh*t
wet okle neoprene seat covers for the front and back
32% window tint on the front windows, 20% on the back 3...kind of wish i did 20 on the front...even though its illegal

I think thats it but Ill probably think of more stuff later....in any case, my truck is freaking fast for something so big, lets just say burnouts are easy these days and theres nothing left to do in terms of bolt ones....if anything comes next performance wise itll prolly be new heads but then if i do that i may get a more aggressive cam and at the same time but thats a long way off. a new grille is prolly next, one of the billet ones....

i just washed it, and its a sunny day, so:

the center dash, in very good condition for what the truck has been through:

the door, showing the color range of the paint. it has a large metal flake. at night it looks black, in low light it looks navy blue, and in the sun it ranges from a navy-bluish to a silvery blue. the pictures dont even do a justtice:

still a lot of color there for 5 year old paint that's never been waxed. my dad's 2001 dodge's paint is so dull, you barely see a reflection.

Real nice truck, how much did it cost, and is that an 'on/off' button i see for the passenger airbag? Never seen owt like that in cars over here tounge.gif

Sip - Mind if i ask you a question?

In about 10 weeks im moving to Olds, Alberta and i've been told various things from different people when it comes to passing my driving test. Now, is it,

A)Do a theory/written exam/test, then pass a road test and drive for one year on a learners license
B)Do a theory/written exam/test, pass a road test then drive for a year under a learner license, then take ANOTHER road test at the end of the first year then drive for ANOTHER year under a learners license - or -
C)Mac, you are clearly way too retarded to drive.

Any help appreciated. biggrin.gif

you are literally moving like 75km from me wow.gif

under the new laws, you have to pass a writen test and an eye test to get your learners, and hold the learners for a year. then you have to pass a road test and eye test to get your liscence, which is probationary for 2 years. just a little tighter restrictions, but its a full liscence.

oh, and with the learners, you can drive a moped on the streets alone legally smile.gif

as for the airbag on/off thing, its because its a regular cab truck, so if you have a kid or something in the passenger seat, you can shut it off so they dont get killed by it. right now its off because my sister is knocked up. and it is actually turned on and off using the ignition key ph34r.gif

lol, talk about close. You ever visited Olds? Were looking at Didsbury or something close to it. My dads friend [who is also emigrating to Canada to work for Yanke, they're both doing it together] is living in Red Deer.

SAWEET. biggrin.gif

On another subject though, how did it cost to insure that truck? Is insurance expensive for young drivers? We get raped in the UK.

biggrin.gif you are going to fall right in love with albera, we have laws to prevent young drivers from the oh-so-painful monetary ass-rapings

it used to be they based your insurance rate on everything, your age, sex, marital status, race, yearly income, everything but your driving. i was paying $3880 a year for BASIC coverage with 0 tickets, 0 accidents, and driver training. the reforms implemented in october make it so there is only 1 thing they can base your insurance rate on. your driving. basically the base rate for new drivers is $1440 yearly for basic coverage, driver training counts as 3 years, and the ammount you pay moves on a scale

and i dont think i have been to olds, or didsbury. red deer is nice because its right between 2 big cities, but unfortantley house prices are through the roof. Lacombe, about 15km north of red deer, is really nice, a lot of nice old buildings and all that.
