@Sip - Great Screenies, better than the first ones you posted, keep em coming, how about posting early morning, late evening and night time screenshots, preferably with a few pedestrians around and few cars.

@Konoko - Great screenshot, it looks yummy, especially with AA cranked up. How about a few more of those.

actually, it looks like that because of bad gif conversion. i was in a hurry, and used ms paint to convert it from a bmp to a gif.

I am one of the people who purchased a PS2 simply to play San Andreas, and have played nothing else on my PS2 as I am not capable of adjusting to the crappiness after having a loyal Xbox since they were released here in NZ. I must say, I haven't been as impressed with the Xbox/PC screens of SA as I thought I would be, but I'll be able to see for myself soon hopefully. It gets released here tomorrow (The 10th) Looking forward to seeing it, after all, the proof is in the pudding/San Andreas Xbox copy. biggrin.gif

Sweet mother of pearl. For a Nvidia Geforce 4 MX, this game runs disturbingly well! I haven't got any time of annoying lag or anything and all the cars look smooth and badass!

suuuuuuuuuuure you will wink.gif

the game disregaurds any graphics card settings for AA, so unless you have some trick up your sleeve, good luck. the book says there are 6 levels of AA available, but for me it only offers 3 with a 256mb 6800gt. anybody have access to all 6?

Well your 3 settings may equal 2xAA, 4xAA, and 6xAA or something maybe as I don't think1xAA is an actual setting as far as your gfx card is concerned.

you may be right, the only 5 options offered by my graphics card control pannel are 2x 2xQ 4x and 8xS

assuming 2xq is the same as 2x, the third level may quite possibly be 8x wow.gif

My GeForce 5700FX has only 4 options; 2x, 2xQ, 4x, 8xS

2xQ is supposed to give the performance of 2x but the effect of 4x.

f*ckING BREAKTHROUGH, MODDING THE UNMODABLE:

coming up next: the QUAD!!!!!!

f*cking eh!!!!!
user posted image

yes, those are the twist rims on the quad, and yes, the quad has hydraulics. i am going to try and get a video capture, this has to be seen to be belived

A short video of the quad bouncing. it moves a little slower than that, fraps screwed up somewhere, but you get the idea, its f*cking hilarious.

if you want to do this yourself, do the following:

1. open carmods.dat in wordpad. add quad the end of the list under zr350, make sure to leave a space afterwards
2. open vehicles.ide in wordpad, find the quad entry, and change the last value (a -1) to 0

voila biggrin.gif

I think it would be nicer to pin a topic such as this at the top of PC/Xbox so we PC guys could revel in the glory of increased resolution and detail instead of being subjected to the grainy drivel in the PS2 screenshot thread. smile.gif

It only makes sense that since the need for a separate PC/Xbox forum is recognized, a separate PC/Xbox screenshot thread would be appropriate as well. The graphical difference is arguably the greatest difference between the two groups and a screenshot thread would allow us all to enjoy that uniqueness.

Just my 2 cents.
