That's a big improvement over the PS2 version. Some of those pics do look like the textures are low res sad.gif

I hope the graphics in the game are better than that. I hope the computer those pics were taken from was just on low specs or something.

i really hope, because it looks awfull
Rockstar promised that all of the textures have been replaced with high-res ones
the pictures show some EXTREMELY LOW textures [such resolution level of textures was not used in games since 2000...thats sad]
if this is the actual graphic quality, then R* quite ripped us off.

9. Which version looks the best?

In an obvious answer, he said "the PC version is the best looking one."

from PlanetGTA's E3 Coverage.

so iam sure that the game was played on a low specs computer.

I must open my screenshots (from video) with paint (bacause photoshop did not support this bmp-format) and you know the bad jpeg-quality of paint... tounge2.gif . The real quality of the video is damn high.

Like LSD already said, it's indeed due to a bad JPEG compression. It can really ruin the quality as the pics aren't that sharp, you'll get artifacts around edges and the colours change as well.
Besides, they aren't really screenshots, but captures from a video... and a video never represents the actual in-game quality since it is also compressed and lowered in quality to make it smaller in size.

From what I understand from the news article on Gta-San.net, those screenshots were taken from the video that came with the magazine. So of course they won't be as good as 1:1 good ol' "printscreen" screenshots. And also they say that since the video is in a very high res, it is in upwards of 600mb, not easily hostable.

Holy Sh*t did anyone else see the hardware they used when making that video, and X800 with a 3Ghz pentium 4 an a gig of ram, the crappy screenies must be from the degredation with the conversions.
