Wally, a freeware Texture editor, supports a multitude of games and formats (not txd, but still useful, especially for textures that need to be low-res, and/or tiled. just save as .bmp or .tga)

*all the dds stuff is for vice, and san andreas, which use dxt compressed textures (sans dds header). only San Andreas uses mip maps, and gta3 doesn't use dxt textures at all.
Edit; the above topic is archived, and after months of trying, i really dont know when it will be Un-archived. For now you could ask one of the current txd-application authors (JernejL, Spooky, Steve M, ThaKilla) about the format, and spooky has even been nice enough to upload his source code which you could study for mroe information.
As said topic IS archived and inaccessible, question regarding the TXD format will be permitted here.
There is limited discussion of the txd format in this topic as well.

I added the pages that imo, were the best. BUT, feel free to add your own if you have some, links or images. And of course, if you need something really specific, give google.com a try. dont be afraid to use the image search there either smile.gif

Any chance we could resurect this old thread, I could do with a look at the txd file format

his website is down. sadly all the sites i found that reference the plugin, provide links to his main page (which is what they should do), so all the reference links are broken too >_<

The author is "VanDerLee" (google search: VanDerlee, camoflauge, photoshop plugin). i'll check the link again later. if its still down in a week or so, i'll upload my copy of the file, though i would prefer not too.

I've asked around a bit, and tbh, i dont know when that will happen. However i have edited my first post with as much information as i could find right off; a link to spooky's website where he has the sourcecode to his txd application, and a link to an older topic that is still active, where the format is discussed in a fair amount of detail.

JernejL and ThaKilla have made the only Txd applications (that i know) that work specifically with SA, although the format doesn't differ that much between the games. Anyone who has the intelligence to code a txd application in the first place, shouldnt have any trouble asking around and finding the missing info.

If someone wants something to do, this format is not discussed on the Wiki, and it really should be.

Are there any IMG tools, Txd tools for mac?

i modded gta sa before, made a bunch of clothes mostly..
but that was back in 2005..

since then my laptop died, and i ended up getting a mac, i just got gta sa, vc, and 3 on my mac, and was wondering if there are any tools for mac yet?

also if anyone played sa mp, is there a mac version?

i'd appreciate any help.

How can I massively unpack all TXD files in a folder? For example, I need to unpack all txd from gta3.img, to import city with textures into 3DS MAX.

HI, CAN someone make a GTA SA Franklin head model to fit CJ's body? you can find the Franklin ped mod here: http://www.gtatnt.co...-gta-v-v30.html and other version HERE: http://skinspragta.b...from-gta-v.html SO you'll just need to convert the PED HEAD to CJ's Body...If possible working on cutscenes...
