This is more of a general suggestion overall then a forum suggestion, however I'd say a better solution to this problem would be to switch to Firefox overall. But thats just my opinion.

Better and easier suggestion: Add one of those 'get firefox' miniature banners on the site.

I said this but was told by a mod/staff that they're all too ugly.
I don't remember who said it though.

I thought the same thing, that one of the really small one would be okay. I mean the page that has the banners has like 100 of them, and some of them are smaller than avatars. I think whoever it was must have thought that I meant one of the big ones.
(EDIT)
This page.

Really, this is a total waste of time, most of the forum users use FireFox, and if they don't well they miss out.. it's up to them, either miss out on transparency and get spyware or see transparency and keep safe. - Luke.

Yea, and if they don't use Firefox (me) they juist don't care about the pngs. 95+% of people use IE which means the people that use pings possibly appeal to 5% or less (safari, EI2) which leaves the joke on them. I say just forget the pngs until the next IE comes out with png support.

Looks like IE7 beta will be out this summer and png support is confirmed. About time...

Oh wow, a little extra feature in IE making it so much better. dozingoff.gif
You're still better with firefox. - Luke.

I would just say "Get Firefox."

No need to spend all that time making a hack for use on such a retarded browser.

It's either one of the two things:
  1. Get Firefox
    or
  2. Wait for IE7 Beta (with bugs no doubt)

Why automatically say that IE7 beta will be better then firefox? You never know until you try it, and *NEWS FLASH* you haven't tried it.

The same reason everyone was hyping the DS and not the PSP. The PSP owns now.

A. This idea is quite useless. If the PNG transparency doesn't work under a browser, then so be it.

B. IE7 will have PNG support, so live with it.

C. Yes, Firefox is better, but would you please stop whoring it?

D. If people really want that PNG support now, why don't they change browser then?

Currently im using Firefox to post right now...... only because my Co-op placement hasent updated there windows Systems to service pack 2 therefore IE is a security threat still, i dont know why they dont want to, but ive been told to use Mozilla or firefox,

although the tabbing feature is fantasic, and the built in search for google
i really dont see this major differance from IE to firefox

a Browser to me is a simple program, its got 1 task, browse the internet, bascially
although i use firefox here, i still use IE at home, and although i miss the tabbing feature, i really dont see why Firefox seems so "supreme" over IE

(also on my computer at home, i find browsing faster on IE, firefox for me takes more time cause it takes awhile to "find" or "look up" the site for me, i have high speed broadband from Bell,)

Sure firefox has better features and is safer to use cause of no Active X controls or scripting, but IE isnt as bad as everyone is making it out to be,

Mircosoft isnt stupid however (although we tend to think it), they realise that everyone is switching to Firefox (even people who work for mircrosoft have switched) and that IE has become the "forbiden" browser
im sure that they want to win people back, therefore they want to make IE7 better than all the other 3rd party browsers, and inculde all the new features, like PNG transparancey, Favicons, and tabbed browsing

also, i think IE is just fine, you guys think firefox is better, thats completely fine, everyone has they're own opionions, but i agree with Svip, stop whoring it

Who cares that I don't have PNG transparency? (sarcastic), the internet is rubbish, I can't use transparent png's ! (sarcastic end) And this topic is turining into people slagging off other browsers.

This topic had pretty much ran it's course. You came and bumped it up although it was only 6 days old, you added absolutely nothing to the topic. You appear to have quite a habit of doing so, in future don't do this.
