Rockstar Games, renowned developers behind such titles as the Grand Theft Auto series, have announced a new original title called Bully for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox.

As a troublesome schoolboy, you'll laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school, Bullworth Academy.

No other information is available yet, but the game will be demonstrated behind closed doors at E3.

Press release:

New York, NY- May 9, 2005 - Rockstar Games, the world-renowned publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO) is proud to announce Bully for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and Xbox® video game system from Microsoft. Bully takes the Rockstar tradition of groundbreaking, innovative, original gameplay and humorous tongue-in-cheek storytelling to an entirely new setting: the schoolyard. Bully is the brutally funny debut title from Rockstar Vancouver and is expected to hit retail shelves in October 2005. Bully will be shown behind closed doors in the Rockstar booth at E3 (324 South Hall).

"We are really excited about the first title to be developed by our Rockstar Vancouver studio," said Sam Houser, President of Rockstar Games. "We fought hard to keep this title under wraps for ages and I am thrilled that we can finally unveil it to people at E3."

As a troublesome schoolboy, you'll laugh and cringe as you stand up to bullies, get picked on by teachers, play pranks on malicious kids, win or lose the girl, and ultimately learn to navigate the obstacles of the fictitious reform school, Bullworth Academy.

I'd like to know why anyone would play it. Hasn't everyone already experienced that sort of thing after being through school, why would you want to play a video game of it? Doesn't sound like a winner to me. confused.gif

I think it sounds like a pretty cool idea.

I mean tons of people would love to go back to their school days and do things completley different, eg beat the bully to a bloody pulp instead of letting him force you to strip naked infront of everyone and eat dog sh*t.. ahem, I think if R* put the time and detail they've put in other titles then this could be a big winner.

The only thing I'm wondering about is if this is a game indeed based on school life then what rating will it be?

OH AND I HERD U CAN PLAY AS TOMMY VERSETYS SON bbq.gif

Well the idea sure is new, though I can't really picture it. Maybe it'll be somewhat like The Simpsons Hit And Run.

Probably be a 'Meh' game for me, you cant knock them for originality but some things just cant be improved upon or mimicked by games. That and I dont understand the American education system, not that I understand the English one either. Im sure the newspapers and anti everything protesters will have fun with this.

Guys... remember, this is Rockstar; so we're probably going to see a lot of humor and a lot of style laved in here. It's a dumb idea, but with enough jokes and sh*t like that, it might turn out to be a great game.

If the game is slightly based on that old game, then i think its gonna be good

Haha, I had Skool Daze on mine, I think. Someone stole my entire collection and the console itself though a few years back cryani.gif

This sounds pretty damn cool, if they can pull it off.

This is a game I've been waiting for someone to make.
I hope it has a completely flexible storyline so you can basically
live or re-live school life virtually. It mostlikfully won't be to violent
seeing as how you play kids but it is bound to have atleast a 2-3
violent acts you can do. Like make somebody bleed or at the very
worse kill somebody and get expelled from school thus ending the
game. I will definitely buy this game the day it comes out...

I heard about this before. But I seriously would like to see some screens. I only heard about it. Seeing some screens would be nice. Then I can really think about getting the game. You know the graphics and features. If I heard about that it may change my mind.

I'm guessing this game is about the movie/book Bully? Where an actual real life bully was brutally murdered by his high school friends.
