Right now it just looks like...plastic. Too smooth, or something. I can't quite describe it.

Right now the gun looks as if it excist out of 1 part. Try to give more details to it so it looks more realistic. This one has potential to become good. Just work on it some more.

Ejection port, sights, selector switch, etc. for detail. Looks pretty cool as is though. smile.gif

You mean realness or texture, just to make it more real.

@Topic.. these are very good. They just could do with a little more texture, they look 'fake' at the minute.

yes i did a quicky render. ill work on it later im gonna dig some kind of pedal for my guitar up now. yes it looks like plastic.

Whether people who make commentary can do better or not is irrelevant. I can't model for sh*t all - but that doesn't mean I can't identify something about your model that you should work on.
We provided our thoughts for what you should improve upon.

if you gave a little bit more info in the beginning instead of just the images maybe i would've known this...

and when you're just starting, and even when you're a pro, you're going to get comments that are not the "omigosh awesome, you're god" kind of comments you're expecting.

Well i was going to leave some constructive comments, but i wont, seeing how you dont really listen.

The model is mild sh*t, the render is total sh*t, the materials are useless since you are trying to make a low poly model. Texture is non existant.
You and your stolen copy of max, sheesh.

Also you should add stuff to the side (As stated previoulsy, ejectors etc...) And if you're going low-poly try to texture instead of modelling them.

That, and it looks like a Kalashnikov made out of butter. Not smooth butter, either. Butter with clumps of hair in it and sh*t. Maj being a dirty Russkie and me being a dirty sand-monkey, we know a little bit about AKs. So let me get a small list out for you:

1. Your magazine should effectively hold 80-90 rounds. Regular mags DON'T. They're not that f*cking thick.
2. Not everything on the gun is the same width, so stop using the same f*cking extrude settings.
3. Circle sights... are rings, not discs.
4. The buttplate is so sharp that it looks like recoil could cause a deep gash.
5. You don't have ejector ports, safety, selector switch, sight adjuster, or anything that makes it looks real.
6. Terrorists don't saran-wrap their f*cking guns.

If you wanted to go low-poly, try not using meshmooths? If you're going to do low-poly for games, then you better f*cking find a texture to make up for teh lack of geometry you can put in. Christ, I made an AK with about 400 polys and it looks better than that ass-nugget of a gun.

And since you're not going to even bother reading this and instead spend your time thinking up a snappy comeback: If you can't take crits, don't f*cking bring that sh*t in here. This isn't happy-time-circle-jerk, and if your sh*t looks bad, I have no problem pointing it out.

Too shiney, needs more details, looks like a gun I'd see in that "XIII" game.

Otherwise it's great, better than anything I could do.
