Having seen the success of the GTAF UK meetup topic in general chat, I thought it might be a cool idea if in the members search there was a way to search the location field in someone's profile. This would make it easier to find out if any fellow forumers lived near to you... or for example, in future forum meet ups, the person organising it could search for all people who were near enough to go and then PM them invitations or something....

Just thought it would be a cool idea, I've got no idea how hard it would be to implement though...

The problem with that is that the location isn't like a drop-down, so people typing England wouldn't necesserily get all the english people, some of them will have typed in stupid supposedly humorous locations, and some of them could have typed variations, or a larger area, such as the UK.

It would still be better than nothing wouldn't it? It would at least save general chat from spammings like this... perhaps if a guide was made on a set of standards for what to put in the location field it would be better... if it was all unified then it could potentially work very well...
