Is there an up to date version of this? It says that the GTAForums code is not compatible with Firefox 3.6.6

This should still apply, it only takes a few seconds smile.gif

Hi, this may be a bit off topic, but I would like to ask, what's the difference between

CODE
window._content.document

and

CODE
window.content.document

?

I have peaked inside your code, I hope you don't mind. I worked on an addon and had to seek alternate venues due to a major leak somewhere, despite I took my best effort to clean up after my code (one single global variable, extensive use of removeEventListener calls for each and every addEventListener call, nulled out every goddamn variable, forced garbage collector runs, basically everything you didn't do tounge2.gif ). Since the extent of the memory leak (about 10k per every page refresh) it had to be (I'm fairly certain) something in the way I accessed dom and window content. Needless to say, I really really hate the "automatic" way of allocation/cleaning up.

In the end, I made a variant of the greasemonkey plugin that injects javascript in a sandbox so even if something leaks everything gets wiped that way leaks are a minor issue. Of course, I had to face a performance penalty, but at least the damned thing was "stable".

"window._content.document" and "window.content.document" are the same thing, they are aliases. Just that "_content" is the old name, which is now depricated. For new code/aplications you should use the "content" property.

And yeah, memory leaks can drive any coder out of his mind tounge.gif

I see. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against memory leaks per say, but come one, give me MemAlloc and MemFree at least (or the likes). Waiting for the system to do something for you when and maybe the conditions are met is ridiculous.

I hear you. I'm a C-fanatic, rather have plain alloc and free, than wait for the garbage collector to show up tounge.gif

Yeah it still works.
But I got to investigate the situation for FF4.0, I tested on a beta, and there it doesn't work.
I haven't had time yet to investigate the issue..

Anchor and jump are bbcodes to define links to other parts of a post. This is only useful for very long posts. I'm not certain how stable they work at the moment, as I haven't used them myself for a long time, but there were some issues with them in the past.

The me code can be used to express actions, a few examples might make their application clear:

PatrickW explains the me code

CODE
[me]explains the me code[/me]

Mokrie Dela will get it

CODE
[me=Mokrie Dela] will get it[/me]

Good to know... cool.gif

BTW... The latest version has been accepted again by the official add-on site, although just as "experimental".
You can thus find it here again.

Does/can this plug in automatically update itself like some of the others do? Or do w e have to manually redownload it?

Once you install a version from the official add-on page, you will automatically receive new updates.

But if you installed your current version straight from my website, you have to install it once manually from the official site.
