You're about four months early, but the stuff released so far on Madden 06 is interesting.
The graphics do look the same, but if you're going to get Xbox 2, they'll look more like this. Truely amazing.
Here is Madden's "Next-Gen" webpage.

I wasn't too impressed with the new improvements so far. They're trying to make the QB's Awareness stat mean something, so they're forcing a field of vision cone that you have to move around if you want to be accurate with passes.

It'll be nice on defense, so you can see where the QB is looking to throw, but on offense its gonna suck, so many things to control.

I was much more impressed with NCAA Football's direction they plan on taking.

That next-gen screen is nice, I doubt it's in-game though. The only need to have a face so highly modeled would be in create-a-character.

Every year EA adds something new. 2005 just wasnt as good as I thought it would be.I mean it had the hitstick and the EA radio, but I barely used the hit stick and the radio got repititive. The next madden looks kick ass and I hope there are a lot new good features.

Well, I use the Colts... so it won't be a problem for me. It'll be nice when I play the Eagles, Vikings, or Falcons online, and the guy can't pass the ball because his QB has sh*t awarness.

Yeah, I'm hoping that you can turn it off if needed. Even if it means that some balls will be over/under thrown, I think I'd rather have that then steer a FOV cone around the field.

I still say it should be John Madden. His last year with the franchise. The next game will be called "ESPN NFL 2007".

Looks like they got a idea from ESPN Football 2k5 with the "In Helmet" view, except they reversed it and is using it for QB use only. They graphics look the same to me and hopefully they don't look to much the same, I could tell 2004 graphics from 05 I am hoping that we can tell from 05 from 06.

@Knight: They had Ray Lewis on the cover and he made 146 tackles (100 solo) and 1 sack. The "jinx" was broken.

1.Peyton Manning
2.Curtis Martin
3.Marvin Harrison
4.Roy Williams

My guesses.

They need to quit messing around with the gameplay, that is what this franchise excels in. What they need to work on is the presentation, and for f*cks sake... the god damn soundtrack.

You can upload your own soundtrack. The presentation will be complete for Madden 07, or maybe even on Madden 06 on Xbox 360.

Donovan McNabb got the cover.

The man speaks the truth.

There is too much tinkering with the gameplay with the past couple of Maddens, which isn't always bad, it just usually is. It sounds like QB is going to be the hardest part, when it's supposted to be the most fun part.

Sad to know this will be the last Madden. Oh well.

It is because the name becomes ESPN NFL 2007 in 2007. Just because EA made a deal with ESPN, and that's how it's gonna happen.

EA promises that the graphics on next-gen consoles will be like realistic pictures. Those graphics are made for Xbox 360.

I had heard that NFL cut an "Exclusive" deal with EA, but I hadnt heard of anything they wer doing with the Madden name..
I guess if its stays the same quality, then we'll be OK,
I have enjoyed all the series (cept '94-95 Genesis)
They hav2 realize that what works, works; so they souldnt change alot..
hope the grafix are noticibly different...
I would say less crowd and sidelines, more player animations for tackles and catches, jukes and what nots, on the field stuff,
not so much Stadium and Stats (like how they put up someones current/yearly stats..)
and Work on Both sides of the AI this year....
Some DEF changes need to be addressed, but I won t get into all that now...
Thx Bro
Holla

I think almost the exact opposite of AFRO...

Now's the time to streamline some of the poorly animated/pixelated crowd movements, and stuff thats happening off the field to provide a more immersive experience. The player graphics and animations close to the best they're gonna get. The stats really don't take up that much memory. Some variety in the commentary would be great.

I highly doubt those are in-game graphics for next-gen systems. Actually I know they aren't. There are rumored specs on the systems, none of which could render 22 highly detailed models such as that screenshot.

It'll certainly look better on next-gen, just not THAT good, at least not as a launch title.

Companies promise alot of things if they think it can bring in more constumers. They use pretty renders and claim the real graphics will be close to them to trick the people that dont know any better. Go back and look at previews of games for the PS2 and Xbox back before they were even out. Its all a marketing ploy.

There's going to be a 60 second commercial for this aired during the draft, within the first hour. The draft is so boring, but I'll be looking for it.

New info released for Madden here. And here are the screenshots.

Everything I wanted, it's in there. You anti-EA boys still think EA's only about making money, and not games? Read the Superstar mode article.

Here's a good article about Madden 06 at E3. Also, Madden 06 will cost 49.95 this year, and not 60 like many people have thought, and you won't be paying for just a "roster update".
