Don't expect this to be converted anytime soon to san an, as i'm sure the majority of the people here will be too busy playing and modding san an pc for a while. (i know i will!)

I'd rather this mod not go to SA, but I guess SA will give this mod more possibilities and what not...

It's only just been released today in Europe so quite a few people will have only just got a hold of the files. There are going to need to be a few changes made to existing tools etc. before anyone can think about porting it over. It's impossible to give an exact date on when people will start moving.

@steve-m: what txd tool are you using? ive tried using delfi's latest txd workshop but the models that have the modified txd's don't show up ingame, i blame the txd due to the fact that i modified the hud.txd and the radar and weapon's huds were white, i was using iripper for the img stuff. dontgetit.gif

I dont think he did use a txd tool.

That's correct, in SA number plates are set by the script.

I was hoping the old TXD format would still work in SA, are you sure it doesn't? However, the SA TXD format isn't much different from that used in VC, all that has to be done is change some flags in the texture headers. Should be quite easy to write a converter.

Concerning the MI conversion, here is what I did so far:
  • Created a stripped mission script - works great
  • Tried to delete the map files - no success so far, whatever I do, the game crashes. There are interdependencies with the binary ipl files and cols in the img, and I'm not sure yet what I can/must delete and what not.
  • Because of these crashes, I was trying to make a new debug plugin, so I know when it crashes. But SA doesn't really have support for that (like VC), so it requires some crazy hacking. Still a bit lost on this one.
  • dff files won't need conversion (at least not those of the northern islands), col files neither (although there won't be shadows, and the materials have to be changed). Other map files will also be easy to adapt, although I don't know if it will work without crazy binary IPLs, and what else has to be modified (polydensity.dat?)

You didn't even use the font used for the rest of the text. tounge.gif I always though a good intro screen would be a render of all/some of the vehicles parked up somewhere in Myriad. I was going to try this once but realised it would take a while to hide all the dummys and damaged parts and get everything positioned correctly. Would be intresting if done correctly though.

Aye...but of course LOD distances will need to be upped, and I recommend it to be done on a very fast PC...either that or an actual render of the island with the lots on it (until later on the 2 northern island won't look as impressive in a render as a bustling city). A render means you can have an absolutely f*cking awesome view, no foggy effect or LOD problems like you get in game. f*cking post wrappers!
