Is anyone going to purchase/rent this game when it comes out? I am intending to get this on the release date because it looks so similar to the San Andreas environment (set in Los Angeles) and has Snoop Dogg in who has some really cool tunes.

Can anyone say if it will have the same style of walking and driver like the GTA games?

More screens are being added regularly on the GameSpot site.

The trailer is awesome and contains Snoop's Drop It Like It's Hot music from his R & G album.

Mods, can this be the official thread for Fear & Respect?

Ah, thanks Thorpe, damn, I want this game so much now, I can't wait the release of another trailer.

I'll post some of the screens in here to save people clicking on seperate links, maybe you could add some more to your first post, Thorpe.

Damn, that first screenshot looks so real, I'll see if I can find anymore on other sites.

EDIT: Bah, the last two are a little too big, so just click the link.

EDIT2: There seems to be only 5 screenshots released at the moment. I'll keep checking regually for updates on other sites.

Yeah, I didn't want to put the big ones in because it will probably annoy the people when 'side-scroll occurs'. I tried to design this thread for 1024x800 resolution.

I'll add a few on my first post but only the small ones.

EDIT: Thanks for editing.

FEATURES

BLOCKBUSTER TALENT. Written and directed by John Singleton, “Fear & Respect” features Snoop Dogg, who lends his likeness and voice to Goldie, the main character.

R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Unique “reputation system” affects player's interactions with other characters, available weapons, appearance and story based on their decisions and actions. Choose to motivate people gaining their respect or by instilling fear.

REAL LIFE – REAL WEAPONS. An assortment of real-life street weapons including semi-automatic assault rifles, automatic assault pistols, revolvers and shotguns.

TO LIVE OR DIE IN LA : Faithfully recreates South Central Los Angeles with full-roaming areas for exploration, gunfights and fistfights in Crenshaw, Watts and Compton featuring recognizable landmarks such as Nickerson Gardens house project, LA Twin Towers prison, Crenshaw strip Leimert Park and the Long Beach Bridge.

SERIOUS STORYLINE: Academy Award nominated writer/director John Singleton and the gangsta attitude of Snoop Dogg, bring the gritty reality of gang warfare on the streets of South Central LA to life in an engaging, emotional story.

BARE KNUCKLE BRAWLS: Visceral and moderately-paced bare knuckle fist fights allow players to utilize tactical strategy for close quarters combat.

To bad they don't have an offical site. sad.gif

I learned not to trust first screenshots anymore. I thought "Republic The Revolution" would be a GTA like game, but it's a f*cking strategy or some sh*t.
And Driv3r and TCSOLA lick donkey balls.
Although I must admit I mistaken this one as real.

One of the only reasons TCSOLA failed was the fact it got really unrealistic towards the end.
This game looks pretty cool. I wonder when it's out in the UK?

Probably a week after the release in North America. I tried finding out for the U.K. but there were no products on Amazon.

Anyone know if this is free roam? Like, I can just walk around, jack cars, and f*ck about?

Cuz if so, I'm for sure getting this game with THOSE graphics. And THAT music all in one.

I like how everyone so individual in their clothing. Unlike SA there were like 2 different "Baller" clothings. Perhaps there will actually be on single "boss" with an individual look that you might kill.

But seriously, still, if you can walk around, buy food, clothes, go gamble, and sh*t, but now own anything, this game would be the best.
And apparently realism is what they're going for.

But don't forget, that screenshot where everyone thought it might be real, it might just be a cinematic

I reckon Snoop Dogg must love San Andreas and so he has got the chance to have his own game. If you watch the Drop It Like It's Hot video you'll see he has the same font as San Andreas on him and on his new video called Signs he is Las Vegas. See what I mean?

This game looks like it's gonna rock so hard. The only problem is...it's most likely going to be linear. No free-roam...but I don't mind that at all. As long as the gameplay is good I'm fine with it.

The odds of it being more entertaining than GTA are very low.

I'll definitely rent it as it looks interesting enough to spend $5 on. If it's good, I'll decide what I'll do from there.

Yeah, I will be most likely to do that. In my local store if you rent a game and decide to buy it from that store you get your rental money refunded.
