I'm getting there. It's been a real suicidal.gif to make it, but I'm getting there...

Here are some screens. Tell me what you like or don't like about it, so I can change it while I still can.

I've adjusted the brightness in PS 'cause it hasn't been prelighted, and otherwise you would see a lot of dark stuff xmas.gif

Only thing I'll add is that I want to think that should have a seperate interior (one that loads, you know?).

About the 'loading interior'. I don't think this will do the building much good since it's all about transparency. It doesn't really show in the pics but every window is transparent. The alphas need adjustement though. They're far too dark now. I share your concern about possible loading problems, since the entire lot is about 4k. , But a lot of that 4k is on the outside (like the stairs, the outside sphere,...) Maybe this could be no problem when I set a proper load distance between the lod and the model.
As you can see I have tested this in an entire empty Myriad. Next step I'll see how it behaves in the 0.3 install.

I like the fact that you liked what I made rah.gif but I'm serious about the criticism. What is it you don't like?

For example, the things I'm not too sure about:
- should there be 2dfx inside?
- should there be more stuff like trees and bushes, since it's on illsub?
- Is green the way to go on the inside glass.?
- I'm not too sure about the little plaques inside. They stand out too much I think. Maybe colour adjustement?
- ...some other little stuff which I shouldn't even think about suicidal.gif

Holy cow great building
show some more pics of the books that are stored in the building if there were any and yeah maybe as mentioned before a loading interior would be better but its easier to make it this way im waiting for a release but this looks great.

For a simple lot it takes a couple hours or less. I don't know how many individual dffs you used though, or your texture volume.

32 textures, 14 dff. This includes the exterior of the building, the interior as well as the landscape. It seems a lot, but it was necesarry to get the alphas right in the IDE.

Most of the process is fixing the broken texture links caused by porting through 3ds format. The more textures with names longer than 8.3 characters, the longer it takes.

You can publish this mod now as [ALPHA], then after prelighting publish it as [PLS].

I agree with Knife. Multiple releases result in a lot of unnecessary installs and uninstalls. Never been a fan of that myself. When it's done you'll get it.

Plus you cant publish as PLS. It has to be confirmed as such. PLS is more than just prelit, its a specific type of prelit.

Million thanks. I'll make sure you're mentioned when released.

About some things you said:
I don't know why it wasn't in the base land position. I just took the original piece of land and opened it in ZModeler. Maybe it's the ZM. I dunno. Sorry for giving you the extra work of repositioning.
Earliest by wednesday I can fix the 2dfx, 'cause all my files are on a pc I can only get at then.
About optimizing the library in 4 dff's: I don't think it's possible since I need them in a correct order to let the alpha transparency do it's thing. You can be sure I checked out numerous cuts and recuts of this lot to just get the transparency correct. Even now there are two little bugs still there, but they don't botter me that much. If you don't know they're there, one might not even notice.
You're right about the LOD. I'm gonna fix this into one model. When that's done, can I send it to you (PM a link) for prelight?
And I'll optimize the new COL's, hope to get this all done on Wednesday.

Don't worry about 'those little extras', I'm very thankfull for the great job you did. You're the GForce.

edit: @ duder when you see this lot ingame you will understand that not only is this lot low poly, it would also be impossible to make this lot work with a loading interior.
