Any certian types of trees?

I could also make them much more realistic, like in san andreas where you acturlly HIT the tree rather than fly through it, and maybe, just maybe, i could find some wat to make the trees fall over, like the Streetlights. It all depends on the OBJECT.dat

Thanks BCspeed, I'd been thinking about doing somthing stuff for the props for awhile but I thought no one would like it lol biggrin.gif .

Maybe we should start a new topic for this to keep it nice and organized so it doesn't end up out of control. Maybe post the origanl object.dat in a thread as a refrance, and then have people choose a few models and cross them off. Kind of like the vehical list. I'd do it but I'm an orgizational mess. I can't even spell things right lol.

The trees should probley be stuff you'd on the east coast, that is if Myraid is on the seaboard. OR just some cool looking trees. Some big oaks, maples, birches, pines. It would be awsome to have some real looking trees instead of those rounded things that are in there now smile.gif .

I was alos thinking of how cool some push mowers and shopping carts would be as object models Shifty41s_beerhatsmilie2.gif

Yes, but even better, we could have a Firefighting Helicopter which replaces the Police maverick. We could replace the sparrow or the sea sparrow with the new police helicopter, then it could finally have guns, with sea sparrow. We can use the devconsole to place a water hose on the police maverick and somehow implement missions with it. btw I tried the water thing and it works good, we would just have to either reise the helicopter or place a water hose, as it is above the cabin.

I hope that made sense.

How about reducing the light level in the prelighting thing you got going ? Isn't 255 the highest light level possible ? Like a lightbulb ? Would make your work look more pro if you ask me (and you don't I guess). Less shiny buildings as Snow Racer said (and that's why I bothered bringing it up). I'm still clueless when it comes to things like this though. whatsthat.gif

Maybe its a matter of personal opinion, however I don't currently mind how the pre-lighting is maybe it is too light. But to re-light all the buildings to a new correct standard would be a bit of a painstaking task to do. Thats one major problem behind re-doing them, however if enough people are in favour of a draker pre-lighter then maybe it would happen?

Personally I wouldn't mind seeing some darker prelighting. It makes the game seem a little more atmospheric and realistic, and less neon super-happy-funtime-land.

nd I like very light buildings more. Solar they any! And to live it would be desirable. And the dark buildings Mytriad Islands will not go. I consider(count), optimum level pre-light, as in addition from Gforce (Pharmaceptical Labalotories).

The changes to do that would be drastic. We would have to set up and agree upon a new light placement in the max scene, and then distribute it. And THEN we would have to relight.

Has anyone made an object.dat topic yet? I can't find it so I guess not, but I could be wrong... Maybe we could have a competition of some sort. One week: new tree for the palm, second week; new boxes, ...and so on. smile.gif

I was going to, but I'm working on a database thinger to see what all objects in the .dat file are used in the generic file. Theres around 300 listings in the .dat file, but alot of them are no longer needed because the mission script doesn't use them. Example- all the trash and rc helicopter stuff that pops up in the Vercitti mansion after you get towards the end of the game. Other things like doors that the mission script no longer uses are in there to. I was thinking about clearing all that stuff out, but I remeber reading somewhere that some of it has to stay there. So I don't know, I guss I play around with it this weekend.

If some one would like to make new things remember-
They should be roughly the same size and have the same base in the same spot, to save remaping all the IPL files. And think of things that map modders would need. Like doors, lawn mowers, cloths lines all that good stuff. OR ignore me and tell me to screw off its all good lol biggrin.gif

I did. I believe it was pinned too. Do we really need one ? The bwinstaller handles it. And I'm sure GT-1 updates it too with his installer package. The installer needs to handle it anyway because it needs to be compatible with what's installed.

edit: What's in the base 'object.dat' is ofcourse another matter. Please hold, I'll take another look right now and make another list.

the atmosphere thing can be adjusted to a certain degree buy editing the timecyc.dat or what ever the hell the weather file is called... Remember how dark VC looked when it was cloudy, or rainy.

i changed the timecycle.dat some time ago when i was modding Vice. So i loaded it into Myriad to see what it would look like. It came out pretty good.

The only setbacks to this is any lot that is not pre-lit, or is TOO prelit, looks out of place.

But I feel, once everything was prelit correctly, it would be a nice touch to the Myriad nightlife.

If anyone wants a good temporary timecyc.dat then use the one from Gta Liberty City, It realy suits Myriad

Eh, I dunno, I always wanted some of these features in Vice City mods..

- The player being able to sit on a bench, on the stairs, or maybe even use that Umbrella like thing near the Restaurant to sit on.

- The player also being able to change modes between 'Pedestrian Walk' 'Jogging' and 'Running'. (3 modes of walking/running.)

- Being able to also lean against walls, well, I dunno about this though.

- The player also to be able to rest anywhere, like on couches, benches..


That's probably all it. Well, maybe even able to drive a plane, but that's their choice. The top ideas is what I really wanna see in Myriad Islands!

I think how you can go inside buildings is the best part
But my idea's are:
More hills (its kinda boring it being so flat)
More offroad (everyone loves that rah.gif

An outdoor racecar/nascar track would be pretty tight...

Gangs walking around and being more territorial than the vicecity gangs would be nice. So would having parts of the city have a certain feel that resembles the gang. So you'll know what part of town you're in..stuff like that.

The new player should be well written, have a cool story, a cool background..

You guys could make radio station buildings, record company buildings..stuff like that. So you'll actually know what part of town a certain radio station is in. Not for all of them, just a couple maybe.. You could script it too, so there's always some dude sitting in the booth doing a show..

Being able to sit down would be nice..

There should be certain parts of the city where you could start a street race. Like there would be certain events in certain parts of town at the late hours of the night. And not just some corona where you walk into it, and all this triggers. Nah, the races should already be going on when you get there. You know, people with cars atleast chilling in the middle of the road somewhere.. Lots of people around the cars.. Then a corona where you could drive into with your car. Then the races would start..

Missions with a lot of gunplay, alot of cool missions where you shoot people. Like there should be alot of action.

Changed animations for running, fighting, walking, riding a car..and shooting would be cool.

The map should looks pretty cool and realistic. Like there should be trashbags sitting on some of the sidewalks. Certain types of peds in certain areas of the city.. The peds should also be mixed and matched with the converted ones from LC if you could get the permission... Maybe re skinned a little too..

A beach, with a more realistic boardwalk and stuff like san andreas would be nice. It is a island after all.. The beach should also be very crowded.. Also, they're should be a few icecream trucks and stuff parked along side the beach, and on the beach..stuff like that. Playing their music.

Is it possible for it to scripted where you can listen to the radio outside of the car?

Some of the buildings that were made don't always look like they should light up like they're supposed to. Some buildings should have flashing lights, blinking lights..stuff like that.

Certain cars show up on certain days of the week?

The myraid policeforce needs to be worked on a bit.. It's weird, it doesn't match. Some of it's hightech, some of it isn't.. It seems sketchy, and mix matchy. Tacky at times.. As much of a cool ride as i think the B.E.A.V. is..it needs to be worked on. Shouldn't show up until the six-star. Needs to be re-moddled a little too. Given treads..a small cannon. The Barracks needs to be changed too..the army wouldn't show up like that in the barracks. Maybe some kind of hummer is more like it. The army should be re-kinned or remade a little too. More less of an army, than a secret police force. Like a more tacticle FBI. More like the swat team and such.. Stuff like that. The FBI should also be changed, they should drive some kind of sedan, or atleast a better SUV than the FBI rancher.. The undercover cops should either be given and undercover car, or a better car than that police corvertte look alike.. Maybe a police mustang? Police Skyline? Ofcourse if you guys want to go for a more high-tech look..it should be outfitted with some stuff. Bodykit, spoiler, bigger wheels. Less of a stock look. More agressive.. The police should just be re-skinned. And i think the cop car they have already is cool.. But the SWAT need to be reskinned or modeled better, maybe they should look more like the BETA swat team from the early screenshots of vice city..

The buildings could use a better layout.. Look a little too mixmatched..

Trees.. Where are the trees?

Highway would be cool. A smallone..

I know you guys said an airport would take up too much space. But how about a small airfeild? Two landsting strips tops..a helipad. A couple hangers. Something simple you know?

The docks should actually have boats parked.. Good boats too..

I agree there, I had this idea for a "Heavily Mental Records" record company...
If I would put more time in learning 3D modeling, I could make it, but I just put all my time in photoshop, php and flash atm.

Space port, big no. Apart from requiring massive amounts of room it is also kindof really pointless, and also you don't have a facility that can produce immense amounts of noise near large urban areas. Also in the event of something going wrong with a landing procedure or the likes you don't want to have a space shuttle smash into a skyscraper.
A coal mine would be better suited to a rural area.
A river might be good on another island.

A river on illcom... wow.gif Would take reconstructing a crapload of stuff though. confused.gif Some modeler do it now. colgate.gif I think it could actually still work but lots of people would get water in their basements. cry.gif

Could get the waterlevel changing. Just need the memory address.

I always wanted to see one of those outside elevators with glass windows all the way up, scripted.
