As I know where everything is in my own missions they will be very easy to convert so I will do that. I have started working on misc parts of the script like the modshop.

i download the Myraid islands 0.3 but the missions...
where are they.Where i can save my game? i pass the mission
Run from party... and whne i enter the red mark again its the same mission ?

It's still WIP. Most of the things are done though. What code will be in your release???

I will also be converting some missions soon so there will be your script and my script. Who ever has the smallist script in the end could sent it to the other person.

Found the storyline!!!!!

He came out every morning, took the paper, then he'd tell me to go to school, and lock himself away in his room. At night, when his green nova pulled in from the driveway, he'd slam the door, hang up his helmet, bark some inarticulate order at me, and lock himself away. It took awhile for me to understand what was happening, but the clinking of empty bottles grew louder and louder every time I took out the trash. It finally hit me when I was ninteen. One morning he didn't get up, and I went into his room. The curtains were shut, and an eerie brown light glinted off of the broken glass on the floor. Dirty laundry covered the lamps, the dresser, and the mirror. And on the bed, my father, a fifty-year-old, 250lb steel worker, knealt clutching, of all things, a brazier to his face, sobbing.

I was going to look for help, but suddenly he turned around. I he started smiling in the mornings. "Mornin' Andy" he'd churp, in a bit of an immitated scottish accent. Somehow it didn't put me at ease. I grew more worried. Then on the morning of my 20th birthday, the morning I was planning to move into my own apartment across the river in Queens, I woke up to pancakes.

"Sit down, Andrew." He said, as he drizzled syrup on the stack of pancakes at my place at the table.

"You're a man now, and I want to offer you a business proposition." I popped a forkfull into my mouth. They weren't even the instant kind. Damnit, the man made pancakes!

"I want to open up a bar in Myriad." What?! What could have possibly put this idea into his head? Myriad?! We'd never even been there, I had only seen it once, looking over the water on the way to Hoboken. And on the nightly news, usually between the words 'allegedly' and 'rape.' But when I saw the grin beaming through the old man's five 'o' clock shadow, I couldn't refuse.

Pancakes, damnit!

So we set up a bar. I cashed in a few savings bonds, dad got together his savings, and we went into business. It did a modest business, but Myriad wasn't the dryest town when we moved in, and competing wasn't easy.

Then one day, I found myself riding in a black Cadillac with two well suited gentlemen, as my father begged for an extension on payment for his illegally purchased liquor license.

"Three more weeks! Please!"

"No."

"I'll throw in free drinks for a lifetime"

The suit turned to his well muscled associate, and turned down the corners of his mouth in a sort of "Not bad" expression.

"Eh." The expression was returned in kind.

"Eh." They looked back at my father.

"No."

I prepared to protest, but suddenly I found myself out on the curb. The suit peeked out at me.

"We'll keep your father comfortable 'till you get back to us. Why don't you go over there." He gestured toward a rotting tenement building. "See if a hooker dropped some change between the cushions." He leaned back into the car. "Hopefully the guy on top liked to shake things up." Then the car sped away, making sure to kick some gravel in my face on the way.

Damn pancakes!


Now people have been saying "make missions to do with the storyline". But what dose this storyline say the missions are about really? It would appear it's about making money and the two missions I made are exactly about that. Maby I don't understand the storyline (maby I got the wrong one lol.gif ) Anyway, from that I still don't know what missions we need.

Come on Knife, there's a lot of info in that little piece of text. We could get some inspiration from that, both in making buildings and in making missions.

There's talk about a bar, I believe MI has one allready. But there could some other buildings be made. A Softee factory (yes, it was a franchise). The life-guard centre that trained Matt. A pancake-factory (they were premade, dad didn't make them). A garage that specializes in cadillacs (some info about the bad guys could be found there). An HQ for the bad guys.

And with those buildings, missions could come along. An ice cream mission like in Vice, a life guard traing session (we can swim now, let's make use of it), A sabotage mission where you have to sabotage the pancake factory or make sure the pancakes don't get delivered anymore (that's how pissed off you were when you heard he didn't make them himself), A break-in into the cadillac garage where you steal one of their cars and sell it to another one.

Really, I believe having a story-line helps both making MI as keeping an overview of what could/should be done.

But it dosen't give me as much as I thought it would. When people told me I weren't making missions to the storyline I though there must be some exact script for each mission. I love thinking up ideas for missions ect but it's wether people like them ore not. I really wan't to start working on a decent storyline. That story just leads up to the point where the main character gets to myriad.

Here we go...

So Andrew has been left and his dad 'taken away'. The guy talks about hookers dropping money. The game begins and the first place you have to go is back to the bar. When Andrew gets there he picks up the newspaper from outside the door and walks in. He says hi to the bar maid and goes into the back room and sits down. He then says to himself "what the fu*k am I going to do". Then the phone rings. Andrew pickes up the phone and answers.

Andrew: Hello
Voice: Hi, is this Andrew
Andrew: Yea, what can I do for you
Voice: It's about what I can do for you
Andrew: Huh?
Voice: Look, I know whats happend to your dad

Andrew sits up straight

Andrew: How?
Voice: I know everything that happens on these islands. I have a business of my own and I keep an eye on all other businesses around myriad. Now I was told that you need to make a bit of money. Is this true?
Andrew: Yes
Voice: Then meet me by the docks later on. I will be in a black limo. Don't be late!

The guy hangs up and the scrren fades. There is now an icon at the docks.



What dose anyone think of that? (I am quite pleased with it)
Yes the dialog isn't the best ever but that can be changed

Recently there has been some planning for a bunch of missions and extensions of the storyline, but since there will be lots of surprises and stuff, I don't think it's a good idea to plan any story-related things in public. We don't want to spoil all the fun.

Also, since it involves the modelling of many mission relevant buildings it will still take some time before we have actual story missions. So, consider this as being worked on, and concentrate on independent side missions for now.

Thats what I have been tring to do all of the time! Anyway I have converted two of the missions to san andreas.

Because of the early date at which the story was chosen, it was designed (as were all of them) to utilize as little tangible content as possible. We are able to procede wide open. At this point its in our interest to choke in, but it should still be remembered that the game should be set up such that anyone can plug on a story-driven set of sub-missions to fit their lot(s) if the occasion is there.

A garage specialising in cadilacs? I alreayd have a Cadilac CTS spoof, so I guess i'll take a shot at making either a dealer or a manurfaturing plant smile.gif
