Message: I'm a noob modeller and I need help to export, texture (in UV mapper) and down the polys, any guy can help me? I tried with some manuals and the game crash... The pic is a suxor model, high poly,easy... cryani.gif I model it in 10 minutes, but need some details, and texture.

I'm sorry to say, but that looks ... odd. It would disturb the MI-skyline quite agressively.

No offence, but I have never seen a building that has been designed to slope so much. Apart from the engineering difficulties you'd run into, it looks stupid. Sorry.

Just make a simple upright building with a little bit of detail and it'll be ok.

Well, that's all fine and dandy, but it just looks out of place there. Make something that isn't on an angle like that tounge.gif Myriad is in Jersey, not Japan tounge.gif

Provided the entire top of the skyscraper isn't past the entire base, the engineering behind it isn't that awkward. Just needs some strong foundations.

After doing frameworks in mechanics recently, I don't even wanna know what forces are involved there. Hope it's strong tounge.gif Style wise, it's a little odd, but why not, just as long as it doesn't overlap another persons lot in the sky, or point out the sea, cause that'll just look dumb. I think you'll need 2 as well, positioned apart from each other, like in real life, to stop it looking stupid tounge.gif

As a bit of practice im trying to model the ostankino tower (http://www.dxradio-f...u-Ostankino.jpg), i was wondering if anyone can tell me how, to make triangular cuts out of the bottom section (which is a cone shape), cheers

This is not the the place to post your questions but why not try a compound object>boolean to cut the cone as a start, clean up unwanted vertices by welding (use snap to vertices) then extrude the new polys inwards and delete them. Then weld virtices to inside cone.
Wow sounds hard but it isn't. If I get time I'll post some screens. All the best.

Addendum: Remember you only have to do one cut then clone and weld

Lot map changed.
- illcom_c1_r1, illcom_c1_r3, illcom_c2_r8 (Decay's lots) now free
I confused with one of Decay's LOT (near D.K. enterprises) (i find LOT name in Download topic - Decay's Apartment). Delfi's (or JerneyL's) radar map says, that he release this lot. Somebody has this lot?

i have all of Redkiller and Decay's lots for MI-VC ....... even the 5 unreleased lots!! ive had all of them ingame too, i posted pic's in the PPT long ago ........... simply search all post's by myself in PPT to see if you guy's want them converted to SA, imo they all fit in very well.

For the mo, would work great as even lot filler. And of course if not quite all there, surely we could ask to finish em, or even cut em up to make other lots, and give the lots away no? - GTAuron

the lots are all well made and would fit in nicely with surrounding lot's although some lods are needed, personally i think that they should be used as they were intended and other lots be used by the current active modder's, this way the island will fill up quicker then people can focus on filling the north island's.

i will attempt to find the screenshots i made of them for MI-VC and also look into converting them to SA, 5 of the lots were actually released as max scene's in one of the MI threads but that might be archived.

First of all, please say me which Decay's and RK's lots you have.
Secondly, show them (can through PM).
Thirdly, I've changed lot map after Knife's message in this topic.
At last, you spoke, that at you is Blatent's (2) and TGR's (1) lots. Therefore, can you show progress in the same theme or inform guys about this (they too from GTAwip).

@AleXXX: thanks for reminding me about those, i did actually speak to Blatent on msn about it and he said it can be moved anyway.

Blatent's lot has gone to jasonb (jason needs it) and the Seaworld lot by ***TGR*** can be relocated, so afaik that lot can be used by other modders.

Edit: here is a pic showing all the Redkiller and Decay lots that i have, the lots are highlighted in dark greenish colour.

I like yours skyscrappers (except texturing), but:
1. They occupy a small part of illcom_c1_r1 LOT. What you will do with rest?
2. Please, guys - before make something on the LOT, glance to THIS topic.. Also, you should look Lot Themes Map.

I don't wanna be a nitpicker here, but the topic you refer too has an un-updated map. It only shows 1 of my 3 illsub lots. The one you made (wich as far as I know is correct) was in another topic.

I've given the reference to this theme, because there are stated the BASIC lot creation rules.
And it's SR's old lot map.

Thanks for the link to the lot theme map I found it once but could never find it again.
If anyone thinks that these buildings are out of character with the surround lots I would be happy to move them or model something else. Maybe the owners of the adjacent lots could post some pics.

These are not the final textures and there is only minimal vertex painting.
1. I want to put another large building on the waterfront and maybe a side road.
2. I think that the lot map is out of date. I read that Decay had given up this lot.

This topic is becoming increasingly hard to keep track of with all these chat posts. I think the new topic will have to have no chat posts at all, otherwise people will get missed/lots will be given to more than one person etc.
