Alright, I know some people have been asking questions about Gang Territories. Firstly, this guide is for after you have already gotten through LV and are BACK in the gang mentality I just got done getting 100% of the territories taken and while doing it I found some tricks and tips that might help. I am also adding in anything I picked up off the forums that proved to be helpful.

Okay, what you need to get started, firstly, Money! Wars cost money, and gang wars are no different. How you get your money, I donít care, I personally went to the Four Dragons Casino and got up to whale and saved and bet and bet and saved and reloaded if I lost too much until I had enough money. You should have enough so that you can buy a couple thousands of dollars worth of guns and if you die in battle you donít have to reload, because saving after every territory gets frustrating and takes a lot of time. But after that:

STOCK UP! The military doesnít buy enough amo to get them through this next battle, they buy enough for the war, and then restock as needed. This should be no different. The weapon of course is your choice, but I would like to advise you to use the Deagle, one shot and move on, any other one and youll either have to shoot them a couple of times, which takes time which really f*cks you up with the Vatos, or youll spend all your time reloading, and stock the f*ck up! They go quickly. I bought around 300 bullets each time, I only ran out a few times, but aside from armor this is really all you need to pay for, because after the first wave you can just take all of their weapons.

Life, money and Armor:

These will spawn in the middle of the street that is under attack, know them, love them, they are your life support, get them in between waves, or if there are only a few gang members left and they are not around at the moment. When it comes to money, taking the territory comes first, but if you have the chance, get some of them dollar bills. The Vatos have the GANG of f*ckin cash, THEY should be called the ballas! The ballas kinda got wuss cash, but anyway, its all spendable.

Gang Areas:

If the color is DARK, then be careful, they will be packing and rolling pretty deep.
If the color is MEDIUM, then it should be a pretty easy takeover.
If the color is LIGHT, your looking at about one wave of members with baseball bats and a 9mm (maybe)

The Ballsacs (purple):

These guys can be pretty difficult in the beginning, I would recommend to do these with the Deagle first to get yourself up to hitman with it. These guys will run up to 10-15 deep on the last wave, and they have pretty basic weapons, depending on the color of the area youre trying to take over. Most of these battlegrounds you will be able to find a roof or something similar, this is the best way to take these guys out.

The Vatos (yellow):

When Rockstar said that the battles would be intense, they were speaking of these motherf*ckers! DO NOT UNDERESTIMATE THESE GUYS! They roll DEEP, and HARD! They have the big guns, SMGís and the sort, and I donít think I saw any LIGHT colored areas for these guys. On the last wave there are typically 15-20 of them coming after you. So find somewhere to hide, ledges are good to use, tops of houses arenít that great for these guys because they have the big guns and if one of them has a good shot at you, your pretty much f*cked. Try to hide behind corners that donít have another way to them.

When they leave the area:

Yeah, it can be pretty f*cking annoying when they run off. But Ive come to understand that they ARE NOT running away, instead itís the AI kicking in and they are trying to go around the back of you and catch you by surprise, it may look stupid to you, especially when they get stuck behind a wall LoL, but for the most part they will find there way back to you, and if not, let them get as close as they can to you and then run (or get a car) and get them, then HAUL ASS back to the area. If youíve done an area and lost, youll notice which group of them runs around to get a better angle, if at all possible single them out before anybody else that way they donít have the chance to run away at all.

Police:

GRR! In the beginning my biggest complaint was starting a gang war without getting stars and having the cops on your ass. But Ive found one big thing helps, kill them. Thatís it, once you are in the middle of a gang war, kill any cops that are shooting at you, then they wont come anymore, and by the end the stars will be gone. But make sure you start a gang war, or else youll just have a bunch of cops on your ass.

Starting a war:

This is pretty easy, kill any three members of the gang in their territory, if you kill them while they are out of the colored grid it will not count. Make sure you find a group of at least three, if you see two do not, DO NOT kill them, because you will just get the cops on you and the other gang members will run away.

ďOur hood is under attack!Ē

This is one of the worst things to hear when your out looking for some gang to splatter, this means wasted bullets, armor, time, all of that. But heres the simplest way of taking care of the invaders. Save. So get as much property as you can, and any time your under attack, Save, thatís it.

ďI have all the territory, and it says I have (not 100)%, what do I do?Ē

Firstly, it IS possible to have partial control over a territory, it only happened in two for me, but it will show up as a mixture between the two colors and will share both members of both gangs, which will generally start fighting after a while. Make sure you own them ALL. Secondly, there are two territories in San Fierro, go over there on the map, one you can see clearly, the other one is RIGHT below it, that is SO light theres only ONE wave, and they literally only have bats.

Spawning problems:
The only problem Ive come across here is that sometimes they will spawn in the water while fighting at the beach, and it will be next to impossible to get them, heres how to get around that. When they spawn, it will be around you, so once you start the war, GET AS FAR AWAY FROM THE WATER AS POSSIBLE.

Extra tip I didnít use:

Get to 100% with that one gf that is a nurse and the prize is that when you visit the hospital they donít take your guns that way you donít have to worry about losing that sh*t.

And the last, and possibly one of the most important tips:

Wear NUETRAL colors, it may be cool to go in in head to toe Green sporting the OG GSF style, but youll be spotted right away and shot at by anybody, then you have to kill them, and then you have cops on you. Wear neutral and nobody will shoot you until youíve shot at them, which gives you plenty of time to look around for a group of 3 or more people to start it with.

REWARD: None that I can see, if you have done this, or do it at anytime, please let me know if you find anything because I literally JUST finished and havnt been able to search anywhere for it.

Alright, I hope somebody needed this, if you have any specific questions, go ahead and post em, Ill do my best to answer them. And please, if you have any tips that have helped you then by all means post them.

100% territory controlled=57 territories (if different in your game, please post with specifics, thanks)

And we now PROUDLY present the territies needed in picture. Madd propps go to Rmc[AZ] for the pictures.

Here is the major body of territories for you to occupy, including your own hood.
user posted image

And here are the ones by Madd Doggs mansion (south obviously) these are the ones that some of them are just little slivers, so if somebody says the territory is small, these are what they are talking about.
user posted image

Firstly, here is the pic of the territories in SF I was speaking of.
user posted image
In my game again there was a territory just to the south of this place.

This is the area of which I have heard about, but was not in my game. Vagos territory near the boat school.

Please also note that there are also some territories to the east of the major bodies on the southeast beach (near the beat the cock race)

I've got a very useful tip:

Waves spawn usually in two groups, and a car. These two groups usually spawn on roads that you're not looking at. So therefore, if you're in a territory where it's just one big road, look towards one end of the road, and the gang wave will spawn on the other end of the road in a huge group. This is easier than having two groups come at you from different directions. Also, to take care of the car, just shoot the driver through the windshield from far away.

The only benefit that I know about is the increased money rate at CJ's mom's house. The more territory you take over, the more the money increases.

I use a slightly different tactic.

First I stock up with the sniper rifle and grenades, then I go and get my jet pack

Then I simply start a gang war, and hop from rooftop to rooftop, pausing only to find the best angles, take out the rifle, and fire away.

A different approach, hope it helps.

Actually, correction, the requirement to starting a gang war in a territory is not having the gang members in the area, it's by killing the those required three gangbangers with yourself standing in the area you wish to take over. Doesn't matter how far you are, you just need to rack up three gang kills while standing in that area. I've taken over a few territories requiring me to pick off some further away people.

And there are no San Fierro territories. Although there's strangely a small Vagos controlled area in Bayside next to the boat school.

Nice Post and Topic man!

Here is my idea of attacking other gangs areas. Plz dont laugh at my pics lol.gif

Here is the first example:

user posted image

CJ is standing in a Walkway, next to him are two high fences wich the other gang cant shoot over. What you should do is take the tips that were mentioned above by the topic maker. Stand down at the walkway and shoot the ppl that are coming through. Make sure youre far enough back. When the waves end. Run up there get their guns and run back again and shoot em again until theyre all dead. AK 47 is the best gun.

Example 2:

user posted image

OK, here we got a road like an L. There is a grassy area down south. First run up between the two buildings When you see the first few on the map on youre right bottom then run down the area. And shoot the people that are coming towards. Youll get em one by one. Sometimes theyll come from the other directions two but only a few, maybe none. Sometimes itll get very close because you always ahve to reload. then of course after each wave run up get life and guns and then go back again when you see the first ppl.

Example 3:

user posted image

Ok, here we have a normal intersection. and houses. Now we are going to use the method above. stay put at one spot until u see the first few and run back down to a different area and shoot all, one after one. Best would be to climb onto a house, wich is possible. maybe you should try it out before attacking. Or you just go all the way to the other side of them.

for all three examples the AK 47 is best and before that some armor and a mini gun should be enough. then keep getting their guns. Being on a roof is pretty safe and sometimes easier for you to shoot. but sometimes a bit harder. youll just have to move till you get a good shot.

This has always worked for me. I never go with other gang members. it sux. everytime i go with them i dont make it. theyre just annoying. I like to take em out alone, easier imo.

98.18 % confused.gif

The SF boat school territory has had me puzzled for a while now.

when i go there, there's not a vagos in sight! even if i hang about for a while.

i thought maybe they appear when you get to a certain point in the game, but that ideas out the window now that ive passed all the main missions (just the obligatory GTA side missions left)

so am i the only one who DOES'NT see any vagos in their SF turf???

If you skip the turf wars and continue to complete 100% of the game,
can you still go back and complete the turf wars?

I did about 50 % but moved on in the story and SF.

btw, another way is to find a wide open space, park or car lot,
and take them out from a distance with a AK47.

I have the same problem about the one Vagos area in SF not having any of them. It's the only territory remaining to take over, yet there aren't any gang members there, period. I walked around for ages and not a single one showed.

OK this is a tip if you are tight on money but need to stock up on ammo. The ammo for all the small machine guns is the same so buy the cheapest one ($300) until you have all the ammo you want then buy the MP5 ($2000). Not sure if this works on other guns.

Thanks everybody, I hope this helped. And to those who say there are not any SF areas, there are. They are in the middle of SF to the east a tad, the gang members are few and far between, just keep running up and down and around the area until you find three gang members hanging around together, they will eventually be there, just keep on running and looking.

The jetpack is a good idea, instead of taking the sniper rifle Id probably just take the AK47 that way you dont waste too much time aiming.

Keep the comments coming. Has anybody else recieved 100%?

Oh, and the guy with the 98.17 percent completion, are you sure you dont have any "partial" areas? Theyd be areas that are a combination of both of the colors. Also there is a really small territory, less than a block big and its located in between buildings. Anyway, do what I did, and while youre on the map push R2 and you can turn on and off the territories, when you do this you can see some that you kinda look over normally.

Hope this helps some.

The boatschool Vagos show up eventually. It took me about 5 minutes of walking around in circles for a group of them to spawn.

Any reason as to why R* put them up there? Doesn't make any sense.

Easiest way to kill the gang members without getting hurt is to use grenades! Kills most of them in one go!

I got 100% territory taken over a few days ago. I took over all of the Ballas territories except one because I couldn't find it for the life of me... Then I noticed a very very very very very very small sliver of land in northern Los Santos. It took quite a while to actually find Balla members in the area but I found some eventually and took it over. As for the Vagos I searched for a very long time for the last territory of theirs and found it at the Bayside area and took that over too. Sorry, but there were no territories in the SF city limits.... (Does anyone know why the other gangs, like the Mafia and Da Nang boys, have a color assigned to them even when you can't start gang wars with them?)

And about gang members coming back to take over their territories after you have 100%, I searched the whole city and found all 100 tags and not once did my territories get attacked, so I think that maybe they don't attack anymore after they have been eradicated.

There may not be any INSIDE SF city limits, but there are territories over there. Because I had to go over there and take over another one of them (I had taken over one previously) to get my 100.

I think that the territories are placed in random patterns or something and that is why some people have multiple territories in SF and others (me) do not.

Yeah, thats interesting, because Ive seen others say there arent any. Thats odd, they never changed for me, and there always the same whenever I restart, I wonder if it has something to do with the game? Other people have noticed differences (like some with a certain colored bottom dont run as well) To anybody who hasnt beaten it yet, just look over every place closely to make sure that youre not missing anything.
