I wrote this tutorial kind of fast, because I noticed the lack of Xbox VC skinning tutorials, only Opius's total conversion tut.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Replacing the players skin:
1. Download TXDWorkshop (look for it)
2. Download a new player skin.
2. Open the the new player.txd or make a new one. (If you make a new one, skip to step ALT.4)
4. Make sure its DXT compressed.
ALT 4. Add a texture, DXT compressed and use your new skin.
5. On the bottem right hand corner, it should say VC with a drop down box, click it and select 'VC Xbox'.
6. Save to player.txd.
7. Replace it in the gta3.img
8. delete GTA_VC.CAP.Final and upload the new gta3.dir and img to the models folder on your Xbox.
9. Enjoy the new skinned player.

Heh, thats always the case. Takes you more time to correct things, then it took you to do it in the first place.

I tried that tutorial, and everything was going fine...until i started the game. Nothing's changed! I removed the old player.txd and replaced it with a new one...i don't know what went wrong...is there backups or what? I also tried to replace PCJ 600 with another bike, but there's still PCJs driving around Vice City. AND i also modified "handling.cfg" file, but it didn't affect either. I really did upload the files. I was able to change the car names and subtitles (american.gxt), but i can't change anything else. Could someone explain what's wrong? confused.gif

Nothing's changed!

Also rebuild the IMG before you upload it to your xbox.

Delete the .CAP files from the root directory of the game.
