Woooo, look at me, I'm a post whore. Actually, just changed a few things on the car like the aforementioned sticker transparency, and lowered it a bit. Download here or from the first post.

That's what I'll be working from, then. Why did you choose the car with the hyrdaulics and not the one with flame exhausts, though? Setting up suspension for hyrdos is a nightmare because they have to be very carefully matched between spring and damper tension so that the car still bounces. Can't you use a different car? I mean, a flame-painted muscle car wouldn't really get hydros fitted because it's a serious culture clash. Hydros are ghetto gangster posers; muscle cars are for getaway drivers escaping cops.

If you change it to a different car slot I can set it up fine but I can't do a decent setup AND make it react well to the hydro system. sad.gif

since ashdexx cracked the thing dev-console can switch hydraulics to any car you drive if you want.

or we can also use modified exe and change the hydraulics there and give it to any other car..

i think the texturing on the interior, the textures on the front bumper, and the front (grill, lights) really ruin the car.

illspirit cries

sorry mate, but in my opinion the front doesn't fit the car at all.
The bonnet has a nice pointy shape towards the front and i think a large, pointy grill would be better there. the way it is now, a flat panel p[ositioned towards the rear, just doesn't do it.
Xyzar gives Illy a big hug

now stop crying.

@ JasonB - Yep, editing the memory to make two cars have flame exhausts is possible, but a pain in the ass. In any case, I wanted it to have hydraulics anyway, is that too much to ask? cryani.gif

of course it isnt, you started myriad and we love you for it, as well as all your other mods and such biggrin.gif But just say someone else was so desperate for hydraulics or whatever that they came crying on your doorstep then the memory doobie might come in handy

@ Cerb - Rah. Covered this in the PM, but I'll answer again here so everyone knows which page I'm on. It's supposed to be ghetto, and the real car it's loosely inspired by isn't a muscle car, but an ancient economy sedan.
Yep, I've finally gotten around to be able to do the setup for this. Since publishing my formulae on my Suspension Tutorial page in full, I can even set the springs and dampers away from the home PC. *strokes graphical calculator*

So then, here's what I am working from:
CODE
;Previous Molotov handling
VOODOO          1700.0 2.1 5.3 1.6 0.0 0.0  0.15 75  0.95 0.78 0.52 5 175.0 28.0 F P 11.1  0.53 0 35.0  2.0  0.12 0.2  0.24 25000 0.30 -0.28 0.5  0.6  1008102  0  1
I'm not sure if you lowered the car from the suspension or from the wheel dummies, so I'll use these values for now. To work out the current suspension effects, I do the below. Subtracting a negative equals adding, of course.
CODE
10(Spring Force / (Upper - Lower)) = Spring Effect
10(2.0 / (0.30 + 0.28)) = 34.48

Spring Effect: 34.48

- - - - - - - -

80(Damper Force / (Upper - Lower)) = Damper Effect
80(0.12 / (0.30 + 0.28)) = 15.55

Damper Effect: 15.55
35 is the effect value I use for sports cars usually. I've never used a damper effect as low as 15, the lowest I've done is 20 for something like the Linerunner. I can only assume these disperate settings are so that the hydros spring up quite stronglyly thanks to the 35 spring effect and aren't impeeded much by the dampers. Can it actually bounce the body off the ground presently?

The Vice original Voodoo handling is this:
CODE
;Original Voodoo handling
VOODOO          1800.0 2.1 5.0 1.8 0.0 -0.1 -0.2 70  0.95 0.80 0.45 5 160.0 23.0 R P 6.50  0.50 0 30.0  1.6  0.05 0.36 0.41 30000 0.30 -0.28 0.5  0.6  8002  1  1
That uses a super-low Damper Force which gives a Damper Effect of just 6.88! So perhaps that is the key, super-soggy dampers? Spring effect is 27.5, which is about what I'd be using.

Bearing all this in mind I've made this "sheep in wolf's clothing" setup:
CODE
;Cerbera's handling for Illspirit's Sarin Molotov
VOODOO          1750.0 1.7 4.3 1.5 0.0 -0.02 0.27 75 0.78 0.65 0.45 3 175.0 12.0 R P 3.75  0.60 0 22.5  1.25  0.05 0.2  0.24 25000 0.30 -0.20 0.5  0.0  1008102  0  1
;
This handling has now been tested FULLY in Vice by myself, so the brakes are set correctly, it hops properly, doesn't run out of gears through corners and it handles as you'd expect an economy saloon with huge tyres and hydros to handle, imho.

Steering angle is still 22.5 because most people use digital devices to play GTA. Do a "replace-all" in your handling.CFG for 22.5 changing then to 35. Release it with 22.5 so that digital controllers don't have to suffer, though. Suspension effect is 25 for springs, which is a standard family car. I used a Damper Effect of about 8 to make it hop - as it's much shorter than the Voodoo and the dampers won't need to be *quite* as super-soft.

This is the final version of the handling, unless people find something desperatly wrong with the flags or something. I think it's a lot of fun. smile.gif

*nudge*

This handling has now been extensivly tested in Vice so you guys shouldn't be so shy about try it out! The car bounces and wobbles and does burnouts and everything. I've even gotten the brakes nice and refined. smile.gif

Wow, this thing handles great now whatever you did it made a world of difference. The thing you said about the steering thing really makes using a keyboard to drive so much more fun.

Wow, looks like great work Illy.
But, I got one stupid question; How can I spawn a Voodoo in Myriad? Is there any car spawning programs?

@Bumper3D:
Get Delfis GTA:VC Developer Console, it has a car spawner and more features than you can poke a stick at

Updated it to V1.2, to include Cerb's new handling. Same download as before, so the official things topic needs no editing. If you already downloaded v1.1, just grab the handling out of this topic if you haven't already. And, if you haven't, you're missing out, the setup is just loverly. happy.gif
