I'm doing some website stuff, and I have myriad, so no figure 8. You'll have to ask barton about a speedometer though.

Well I could try and get that screenshot you wanted cerb, it would actually be an honor. Now about the handling I am still finding it extremly jumpy in turns which I am sure ins't right for a F1 car.

Im not sure but I seemed to mis understand the readme also when I first installed this, Im not sure if there is an error, anyway make sure you have the Dmagic1 wheelmod installed, make sure you removed all the .dff/.txd files for the cars you had and make sure you re-name the cars like it says in the readme.
Installed the lines also but they wont be the problem.

have you ever been in an F1 simulator or played an F1 game? i havent tryed the car yet but there are usually jumpy round corners so i dont think its unusual by the sounds of things....

If you do get some screenshots, do not IMG link to them if they are larger than 640x480. Maybe you should get into the habit of thumbnailing images you post? Just make a 25% version of the image, prefix the filename with 25 and post them with the 25 edition in an IMG tag and the full version in an URL tag below.

It would be very helpful for me. If you get some shots in middle-distance following view of braking and turning from high speed so I can see pitch and roll, one of clipping a kerb with the inside wheels so I can see if the tail jumps up too much, plus one of just turning at very high speed with the throttle right down. Another of accelerating hard out of a very sharp, slow turn without using the handbrake would be good to see whether the front wheels are getting pulled off the ground.

The airport and Starfish Island are the easiest places for shots like this, although for the very sharp turn using one of the divided highways would be best. Some cinematic shots of the car just screaming round turns would be cool, too. Should keep you busy for a couple of hours. wink.gif

There is no point reall in making 2 sets of picture you might as well just link them, I never found for his pics to be real big even if I ran 800x640 anyway thats real offtopic. I thought the original handling was ok but ill check Cerb's when I get the time also.

@ sadistic, you should tell Cerb about the problem with the fish dont remember which one rear wheels, he may have a answer as I dont know how to explain.

@mon - Yep ok I'll get some just for you wink.gif

@Cerbera - You mean similar to what you did when posting your handling line, having a smaller version that when clicked links to a bigger version? Ok I might try that. About the F1 screenshots, I like a challenge and I'll be sure to get to it later today. I've also just started to learn how to create short videos in Vice City using FRAPS so would you like me to try and get a short video of it in action too?

I'll be sorting out the Superfish over the coming weeks. I'll be dealing with it either over PM with SadMac directly or in the thread for the vehicle.

GTAFreak, that's exactly the way of posting images I am talking about. smile.gif

As for a video, if you do make one keep it short and take it from standard following view so I can get a feel for how the car handles. Just one full lap around Starfish Island as a figure of 8 would be plenty. Standing start at the beginning and use the footbrake without handbrake at the end so I can check how rapid that response is.

(EDIT) I also did two sets of images because I would use them both in the entry for my website, so it certainly had a point for me. Aside from it allowing people with small desktop sizes to view the topic more easily and people with slower connections being able to download the visible parts of the topic faster.

probs with it for those who have small (14''-16'') monitors or screen resolution. On mine 19'' Hansol 920P its all right, till you start posting 1600x1200 pixels large pics , & i suppose that never happens....

too i had probs with f1. 1st time it in game there was the car with no textures. i put then txd's in the correct order. it fixed for hotring, but the hotring on odies berlin demo carshop is still white(no textures)

If you have a poke at this post in the ideas list thread Gangsta Killer made, then abandoned, you'll see I've suggested a whole bunch of possible companies and manufacturers. There's some more ideas the first post of the thread from all sorts of people. How about a special Myriad-style livery, using the sort of techy style Illspirit used for the police station?

Whatever happened to those promo shots? Anyway, I found a way around the MiniScaler not running at the library because of EXE restrictions set by the administrators. I managed to get on the home PC, so I opened the program and took the code out and inserted it into my GTA3/VC suspension tutorial so that I can just plough the numbers through the scientific mode of MSCalc whilst at the library. This means I cab calculate better suspension which *should* suit the car better, with a smaller overall movement. Well, I'll try suggesting a new suspension setup and SadMac et al can test it to see if it's better or not.

As I'm on the home PC right now, I can just throw the values through MiniScaler directly. I'm thinking values like this:
CODE
Upper Limit: 0.10
Lower Limit: -0.08
Suspension Strength: 1.00
Damper Level: 0.12
This uses a MiniScaler suspension effect value of 60, which is about the stiffest I remember you can get before it gets bouncy when accelerating on flat ground. If you find it is too stiff and starts bouncing wildly on flat roads, this next setup is set to 55 for both:
CODE
Upper Limit: 0.10
Lower Limit: -0.08
Spring Strength: 0.95
Damper Level: 0.11

The previous settings had the springs at an Effect level of 50 and the dampers at just 21.45 - which is a touch soggier than I'd normally set a van! tounge2.gif

(EDIT) For reference, here is the handling before these alterations suggested through MiniScaler:
CODE
HOTRING            800 2.0 4.6 1.1 0.0 0.02 -0.05 100 1.50 1.00 0.46 5  325   70 R P 5.5   0.60 0 22.5 1.05  0.06 0.40    0 105000 0.10 -0.08 0.5  0.3     2193  1  1

Here is the 60 Effect version:
CODE
HOTRING            800 2.0 4.6 1.1 0.0 0.02 -0.05 100 1.50 1.00 0.46 5  325   70 R P 5.5   0.60 0 22.5 1.00  0.12 0.40    0 105000 0.10 -0.08 0.5  0.3     2193  1  1

Here is the 55 Effect version:
CODE
HOTRING            800 2.0 4.6 1.1 0.0 0.02 -0.05 100 1.50 1.00 0.46 5  325   70 R P 5.5   0.60 0 22.5 0.95  0.11 0.40    0 105000 0.10 -0.08 0.5  0.3     2193  1  1

Sorry Cerb, been real busy blush.gif

Anyway I think the 60 Effect handling is great, it doesn't bounce around so much in corners which is what I found annoying before.

Hoorah! All that fiddling has payed off, then. Speaking of fiddling, the formulae I use to calculate suspension values are up on my Suspension Tutorial page, in full. This means I can now do accurate suspension settings by using my graphics calculator whilst away from the home PC.

If people are happy with the 60 setting, I'm all for us using it. Once the third sponser is sorted out and SadMac makes that release, I'll put that one onto my site. Will need a screenie at 1024 x 768 to do so, though. Sucks that I can't drive these...I want to throw them around so desperatly! cry.gif

(EDIT) Ignore this thread, there's a V2 out in a newer thread by the author now.
