Zing! You just solved your own problem. Buying a legit copy of VC should fix all your problems.

The reason no mention is made in the FAQ is that all talk of warez is banned at GTAF - it is covered in the GTAF rules, so I need make no mention of it in the FAQ wink.gif.

Ok, i have the same problem.
All other is working fine, but this graphic bug.
The most of the meshes look like they have inverted normals, i can see the meshes from inside.

I have the newest drivers for my graphic card and standard Vice City is working well.
I have no problems with any other 3d games.

Any ideas what is the cause?

I'd assume it would have to be something on your end, and not something in the actual game files.

VC could still run fine with a lower end PC with slow performance as it's not as "graphics/model intensive" as LC. Do you have SA on PC, and if so, how well does it run? Although if it were to run fine, that'd only make the whole situation more confusing - I'm really at a loss for how to help you.

About the only thing that might fix the problem would be a hardware upgrade to your PC - more RAM, a new graphics card, etc. However, that's a bit drastic for the sake of one game. Perhaps someone else will be able to offer more help confused.gif.

and sometimes it's blank. all the cars i've modded in work fine, even the ones in extra slots (300-302).

Hi guys,
At first, thanks for that great job.

I've tried everything (v5, v6, v7 - auto/manual install)but th lc is crashes after i click on start new game!

Pls help me somehow!

and sometimes it's blank. all the cars i've modded in work fine, even the ones in extra slots (300-302).

I'd be willing to bet that the problem lies in the extra slots you've created. Unless you're already using every available car slot, I'd suggest just replacing an unused VC vehicle to add a new car to LC.

You'll need to give us some more information - like the debug output reading. It can be found in gta-lc-scm.log in your main LC folder - you only need to copy and paste the first seven lines (up to and including the EFLAGS bit) and post that using the CODE tags smile.gif.

I am trying to turn on debug mode, but I can't find the little snipet of code used to change it. I have searched thoroughly for this, but have not found it. I am using the latest version of LC,v6 beta 2 or something .... mercie_blink.gif

Ok, you don't need to change the SCM. To get debug mode, you need to go into the Show Config utility, which is located in your main LC folder. If it's not there, you'll have to create it - right click and select New -> Shortcut. Click Browse and find gta-lc.exe. The path box should now read "C:\...\gta-lc.exe". Simply add -showconfig on the end of that so that the path now reads "C:\...\gta-lc.exe" -showconfig and then click OK. Rename it to Show Config, and if you like you can change it's icon to the LC one.

Double click on it to open it, and then click Advanced. Click on the Debug tab, and then tick the Use Debug Script check-box. Click Apply and then click Exit. Load up LC and it should be right now smile.gif.

Also, because you're probably curious, I'll tell you how to find the debug switch in the SCM wink.gif. Open up the MAIN.SCM.TXT in MB, and go to Find. Type in $MASTERLCDEBUG = 0 and then go. To change it to debug, just change the 0 to a 1 and recompile (although that's already done in the DBUG.SCM which is in the data folder) smile.gif.

I realize this is a bit of a big bump, but I could really use some help.

Just got LC installed (Lovin' it), messed around a lil', and then got the dreaded "Unhandeled Exception". Now, I would check my "gta-lc-scm.log", but there's a problem; it's not in my registery. Now, it is supposed to be in my registery, yes? Because the closet file I have to that is a GTA-LC configuration file. Now, something tells me I'm going to have missed it, but I really can't find it anywhere. To sum it up, it's your usual unhandeled exception. Now, does "Thread" mean "Reason, Cause, Ect"? Because I've crashed four times. Here's what it said for Thread each four.

1. Trains
2. Main
3. Noname
4. Noname

Now, I realize every map mod crashes after a while of playing, but I'm crashing every two minutes. Now, that's just plain unacceptable. It could be my computor, considering it's a refurbished Dell, but I'm hoping it's not. If it is, I'm getting a new computor in May though.

Another thing is, whenever I go into the small space infront of the elivator at the Stauton Island safehouse, I see a large spinning object. Thing is, it's so large I can't tell what the f*ck it is. From my perspective, it looks like a giant triangle. I could take a screen, or a vid if you'd like. I don't really mind that though, the object isn't solid, so it can't really affect my game in any way. The crashing is what I want to focus on, though.

EDIT: Turns out it was at the bottom (The directory is clogged with mp3 files for ingame sounds that I can't delete).

The log file is overwritten every time a new error report is saved, so there is only one error report at a time, i.e. the latest one.
The opcode says the crash had nothing to do with scm, but instead of pinpointing it (we don't know which updates you installed etc.) you should wait for the updated package that will be released very shortly.

I'm in the middle of updating.

I copied audext.exe and audext.dpr to LC > audio.

I double-clicked audext.exe. A black box appeared with a cursor for awhile then disappeared.

The read me says "run SFX.exe...."

I don't see it anywhere--where is it?

Which version of LC are you trying to install? Because I just checked and the readme for the latest v7test package doesn't say that. The instructions for installing the SFX for the latest package look like this:

  2. Create a folder in your LC\audio\ directory called "SFX"

  5. Run audext.exe and wait until the window that pops up disappears
  6. Extract SFX.rar to the SFX folder, and then extract the Extract Me Here!.rar file straight into the SFX folder
  7. Run Blanks.bat (it should be in the SFX folder) and wait for it to finish
  8. Run audimp.exe and wait until the window that pops up disappears
  9. Move SFX.RAW and SFX.SDT back to the audio folder
  10. Delete the SFX folder and all of its contents

I see now--I'm updating v.6 to v.7 and was looking at the text readme for v.6 instead of the html file for v.7.

I can proceed with the hml file instruction. I closed what I'd done before (see above) so I wouldn't ruin anything. Should I do something to change what I've done back to what it was before? I don't have a backup.

Not sure exactly what you're asking. If you're worried that you've messed something up, simply remove the LC folder you've created, copy your VC folder and start again.

If you mean that you installed straight over your VC folder, then you're just going to have to reinstall VC before you can begin reinstalling LC. If you've lost the LC "installer" package, you'll have to re-download it.

Thanks! I got it, the GTA "III" sounds are there around Misty's apartment biuilding, etc., and the 'cycles are looking real good, too.

Did you try ANYTHING I mentioned in either of the two PM's I sent you? They came complete with links, so you didn't have to go searching for anything.

Also, some more information (and specific information at that) would be really handy. I've already directed you to the readme included with the 2.7test download (which I linked you to) - did you try any of the solutions mentioned in it? Did you install LC properly? etc.

The more you help us, the more we can help you wink.gif.

EDIT - Actually, if you continue to try and post new topics, I'll make a point of not helping you. Especially when I've already told you where to post questions. How bout you go back and re-read the first PM I sent you, and then read the rules/directory topic before posting again?

But, so that you don't ask here - if you want information on Ghost-town (or any other gameplay aspects), the GTA3 area is the place to go.

I've downloaded LC v2.7.I've installed it.I enter inthe game.I click ,,Start New Game,,.After that I click on ,,New Game,,.For a second a blue loading line appears, but after that the game closes.Are this informations enough??

All I suggested was to read the readme (especially the bit marked IMPORTANT, directly above the common problems table). So if you've tried deleting vc_weather.asi and vc_weather.cfg, then I don't have any idea what your problem is. Sorry.

Yes! Why? Because the readme states that you have to copy your VC folder as the first part of the installation process. That implies that everything in your VC folder is copied over too turn.gif.

And if you're VC folder doesn't have an audio folder, then you shouldn't even be asking for help because that would mean you're using a warezed copy (not sure how it works without the audio folder, but it's definitely not an official version) - the rules of GTAF state that asking for assistance with anything warez related isn't allowed (because it's illegal to even have warez). So, if this is the case, go and buy a proper copy of VC.

No need to shout - I can hear you just fine. That's a round-about way of saying don't use caps wink.gif.

I'm assuming you have v7test (which is the latest version of LC - available from the pinned Updates for LC topic) - if you don't have it, then get it. And then to fix your sound bugs, grab the SFX update in that topic as well.

As for installation - read the Readme included as it covers everything you need to know wink.gif.

All converted sound files are taken directly from GTA3 (those that weren't taken directly, such as the crusher, are a combination of wavs that were taken from the GTA3 SFX archive) - what I'm trying to say is that there's nothing wrong with the pitch. If you don't like it, you'll have to edit it for your own version (meaning it would be something unofficial for LC) - the only way I can think of to do that is to edit the actual SFX wavs yourself with an audio editor. If you need help with the audio editing, then you'll have to look elsewhere because you're not going to find any in the LC forum - I can tell you how to get the SFX wavs though - check out my guide in the forum, and look in the third post (LC\Audio\) wink.gif.

As for your other question - no, I can't send you my SFX archive. Why? Purely because of size (it's around 300MB), not to mention that if you have installed the SFX update, your archive will be the same as mine anyway.
