Write Miscellaneous updates (paths, streetlights, water, etc.) for me.

But we haven't made a rescue helicopter yet.

Add cull.ipl and occlu.ipl in my description. UPDATES

I think that a good Idea might be a more tactical feel to the game. I once had an idea that on a mission you'd have to drop from a heli (near a health pickup of course) then you'd have to get back to the heli afterwards.

EDIT: I want to contribute, but I have no modding skills beyond messing with weapon stats. How can I help?

Learn... Myriad Islands is suppose to be for experienced modders. Do some outside work until you get used to Vice City modding first.

on the message at the top of this forum it says there a Myriad Islands Beta Installer 2.0 but the link dosent work

Hey im just downloading the 0.3 installer of the website and i was wondering does it replace cars that are in the game? And also when the new island comes out do i just install the installer for that or do i have to get a new installer?

I assume the new islands will be released as a manual install package, possibly with a Barton Installer script at a later date.

Then the official installer will more than likely be updated so that the new Islands will come as standard along with the usual variety of new lots, new vehicles, data files etc.

What program is used to create buildings in these lots on Myriad Islands and where could i find a tutorial to learn how to use it.

Well I use Sketchup/ZModeler. Other people use programs such as 3DS max for example. It's all different from person to person.

There's a few tutorials in the Tutorial forum.
But I would recommend to start using this one first, Sketchup building tutorial part one. This one learns you how to make buildings with Sketchup and Zmodeler.

Myriad Islands is about to be done now for Vice City. Download the installer from: http://www.myriadislands.com

biggrin.gif Hey all this is my first post in here.

just a few comments on myriad islands.

its a cool download but it could do with a few things more helicopters a stunt park (i know you said that you werent gonna put one in but hey just one small one some where wouldnt hurt).
a few more missions too.
i know its still W.I.P. but it has a lot of potential maybe some day make it available for online play.

hope this helps the mods cool and hope you keep adding stuff too it as it could become a great mod.

I am a noob, so I'm really sorry if this is a stupid question. Do you have to have VC in order to use Myriad Islands? I'm guessing it's kinda like a patch for VC?

The earlier version of Myriad Islands are for Vice City. The team is now only focused on San Andreas. There will be no more realeses for Vice City anymore.
Myriad Islands is a modification. It's basicly removing all of SA and replacing it with our own work.

Yes. With it being a modification of the original game you need the original game installed for it to operate correctly.

As new lots are added initially, they will need to be installed manually, or unless of course a BWInstaller script is written for it. There are 2 options really with updates, either install it manually if you are competent enough to, or just wait for a new installer, which will of course require a fresh install of San Andreas, unless an updater is made, which would more less likely than a full new install.

And no, as of yet, there is no updater tounge.gif.

Me and Gforce went over the contributers list not too long ago. I think it was August. As I recall it had quite a few more participants on it...Lemme see if I can dig it up...

and it took us several hour's of trawling "ALL" the older topics right the way through, although i still get the feeling that someone important is missing from the list monocle.gif

my personal intention was to use 1 of the intro video slots as a contributor video (a little like the SA intro contributor/team list intro) given that the list is so long and the previously used endscreen outro is way too fast to use with the SA engine, unfortunately my intro video creation skills are completely pre-n00b standard cry.gif
