The exit is on the second floor, near the sandking.

Also, we need hosts for the final version. Should be around 75.5 MB.

Yes its a Midtown Madness site, if you upload a 75MB file I'm pretty sure they will remove it quickly. They remove mods after a short time whether they are 50kb or 2mb. Uploading this type of file would just get deleted quickly as its basically abuding the system in some way as well as taking up alot of bandwith.

Grim, allow me to explain the difference to you and ease your exasperation.

Our project aims to alter the Gaming Experience of Vice City. That requires mission editing first and foremost. Offhand example, zombies would cavort about like peds and there would be no biker madness or elite air force base swat teams without mission editing. [We vastly improved the zombie spawn system in the full version, along with everything else.]

All the alterations are merely scenery to enhance the atmosphere and missions. Therefore we are in the mission showroom.

The other total conversion projects I know of are community projects and thus have their own subforums. The Long Night missions are what bring us the most pride, and what took the most work.

Before you scoff at our scm, the final has about 30 full missions. It will be the largest homebrewed SCM released.

Whereas a handful of skins and a request for a coder would be the equivalent of a car dealership showing a few cans of paint and asking for somebody to build the car. It does not belong in the Mission Showroom.

I hope you now understand and will stop calling for the alteration of our healthy thread. Please stop the slander and the fuming. You can do it all you like back in your own thread.

Anyway, Long Night fans, I apologize for that. We're working on hosts right now.

Sorry, some people just recommended it so i thought he could use it. FOund it strange that they took all kinds of files, too.

I just downloaded the (full?) version from fileplanet and this is looking great so far, dont know why it only got a 3/5 and only 6 votes? I'd give a 4.5/5 just based on the new mission scripting alone, but I aint got past the first mission yet, nice and hard, thats how it should be. I've played just about every mod there is for Vice City and none have had a whole new story and style, most just change the cars and a few other textures and they call that a total conversion, this is the only total conversion imho and if not then please feel free to elighten me. Whats strange though, is that theres not more popularity surrounding this, maybe im looking in the wrong places. Or maybe your still working out bugs?
Just a suggestion, in the first mission, maybe add a line telling the player that shooting behind, while driving in the tank, will give a huge speed boost. Some might not figure that out for themselves, and it makes it a lot more fun wink.gif.

Edit- btw I'm using powerstrip to up the gamma a little, I can see what you've done with the lightning effect, but it was just a lil too dark.

Long Night Final PatchYeah, the full version has been uploaded to fileplanet, but unfortunately I uploaded the wrong final version, so the game will crash after you finish the third mission. As such, I've been waiting to post the link in here, because the more pople who download the wrong version, the more people have to download a patch.

I'm glad you like the mod. As for popularity we haven't publicized the link yet as we have been waiting for fileplanet to update the file. That's going to change now though. Tell your friends.

Let's get it straight. I live in Indonesia, a developing country where the value of our currency dropped very low in 1999 (now, Rp. 1000 = USS 8). Which means that I cannot afford to buy a new GTA Vice City CD (that would mean hundreds of thousands of wasted money enough to supply me for a whole week). To add to the problem, I can find no store selling a real CD - They're all pirated CDs! devil.gif (Which are about 4.5% of the original CD's price)

So, I would like to know whether the mod can work without the CD.

Is it, or is it not?

There are illegal cracked exes floating around out there that let you play Vice City without a cd.

You'll probably want to play the full game though. It's even better than the demo, promise.
