I have decide to create or modify some existing ReadMe's so people should hopefully have less trouble installing the mods manually. At the moment there are just two new/updated one's they can be seen below. There is the bunker made by Inky and the one for the latest release of Redkillers lot, because there wasn't one in the zip file.

I will not post the lot downloads they can be found HEREand also by browsing through the different topics within this forum. Also it may be an idea to look through the different posts in PPT HEREbecause some downloads can be found here.

I asked DieselGT about this and he said it was okay to start a new topic, because it is relevant to Myriad Islands. It doesn't really belong in the Help Topic also.

1. Find and replace illcom_c9_r3.DFF in gta3.img with the one in my extracted zip file.

2. Add bunker.txd to gta3.img.

3. Find the illcom_c9_r3 line in illcomNE.ide,replace the line starting
  with 2420 with this one:
  2420, illcom_c9_r3, bunker, 1, 300, 1

4. Add this line to illcomNE.ide:
  3025, LODcom_c9_r3, bunker, 1, 800, 0

5. Add this line to illcomNE.ipl:
  3025, LODcom_c9_r3, 0, 682.671, -705.054, 0, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1

6. Use CollEditor to delete the old illcom_c9_r3 collision mesh from
  illcomNE.col, import the new one from this zip.

7. After importing the collision mesh, click the 'Make LOD' button. This
  will make a blank col object under the original called "LODcom_c9_r3[-]"

After all that, just start a new game like always and have fun!!

Is it NOT possible to make a Install Scipt for this bunker, because Barton's installer
is not scripted to make LOD objects.

New ReadMe made by GT-1.

This ReadMe was made due to the problems I had when installing the Bunker.
The original ReadMe is very similar, but this now has extra idiot proof instructions.

1. Open IMG and add the all files in the Zip except illcomNE.col, illcomNE.ide, illcomNE.ipl. Then re-build the archive.

2. Open up illcomNE.ide, this can be found here, data/maps/illcomNE.
  Add all these entries, at the end of the first batch of entries, before the word END.

3. Add all entries from the illcom.ipl, to the bottom of the illcomNE.ipl before the first occurance of the word end.
  The file can be found here, data/maps/illcomNE.

4. Open up the illcomNE.col, which can be found here, data/maps/illcomNE. Import all entries from the (RK)illcomNE.col
  to the illcomNE.col. Save the changes made.

Now run Myriad Islands, and have fun, the game should work perfectly.

At present there is no script made for this aprticular lot, this maybe due with the fact it may not be the FINAL
version of the lot. I believe there will be a script made for the FINAL Release of the lot. Which will work with Barton Waterduck's installer.

New ReadMe made by GT-1

This readme was made because at present there is no readme within the zip file, I hope this helps.


If this post is too large please say and I will make another post with just the one lot in each.
Also if anyone wants a readme for other lots just say and I'll see what I can do.

wow, feel free to write my readme :-D ill be realeasing the damn near final update this weekend smile.gif just got a few "flashing" poly's to take care of and some mission script and i'm done, so IM me if you wanna write that for me!

I have a modified version of the read me for your BETA release at the moment which I am going to put up later. Can you send me a PM TRN, with the files and .ide, .ipl and gtavc.dat lines and i'll try and make a idiot proof guide. I am also fairly new to modding, but so far I think im doing ok, well map modding that is.
Be warned I am a learner to making read me's because I never release anything. Actually if you could send me a BETA release of the FINAL, if you understand and ill go through the stages and write a readme for ya. This would be a better idea. biggrin.gif

Anyone else want other updated/moded read-me's made, I think the other on's so far are ok, and there is'nt that many lots released, theses are not install scripts for Barton's installer just manual install read_me files.

1. Copy the tonycom folder into your maps folder. The folder should be copy and then pasted here;
  data/maps/

2. Open up the gta_vc.dat (data file) and add the below lines at the relevant places.
  Add this line to the bottom of the .ide list:
IDE DATA\MAPS\TONYCOM\TONYCOM.IDE

  Add this line to the bottom of the .ipl list:
IPL DATA\MAPS\TONYCOM\TONYCOM.IPL

  Add this line to the bottom of the .col list:
COLFILE 0 DATA\MAPS\TONYCOM\TONYCOM.COL

3. Open up the Myriad Islands IMG file, and delete illcom_c2_r3 and illcom_c3_r3. add all the files
  in my folder labeled add to IMG. Then make sure to re-build the archive.

4. Open up the illcomNW.col which can be found here:data/maps/illcomNW/illcomNW.col with a collision file
  editor and delete illcom_c2_r3 and illcom_c3_r3.

5. Import the files in the tonyland.col, and then save and exit the editor.

6. Open up the illcomNW.ide, which can be found here:data/maps/illcomNW/illcomNW.ide, and add the line:
  2070, illcom_c2_r3, dealership, 1, 300, 1, in place of the original line that began with 2070.

7. Open up the illcomNW.ipl, which can be found here:data/maps/illcomNW/illcomNW.ipl, and add the line:
  2070, illcom_c2_r3, 0, 71.1669, -649.418, 22.79, 1, 1, 1, 0, 0, 0, 1, in place of the original line
  that began with 2070.

After all that, just start a new game like always and have fun!!

At present there is no install script, to use with Barton Waterduck's installer, but this is only a BETA
release and there needs to be lots of improvements. But expect another release soon, as TRN stated, these
improvements have been made. But don't be put off.

It sounds about right, lol. There was just a couple of mistakes, this is more detailed anyway, so I hope
this helps.

  no illcom_??_?? to delete because as of yet it does'nt have it own base land.

Now run Myriad Islands, and have fun, the game should work perfectly.

its not perfect.

Oh my god, thank you.

I wasn't sure what I was supposed to replace, as I've just started installing stuff.

I didn't want to use the installer since my history with the is very sordid (coincidence or not I tried installing something a long time back and the computer started smoking. Bad timing: yeah right!)
