Ok, ive just begun some work on making the first release, it could take a while though to put every file together.

Anyways, ill ask you this question, do people prefer installers, manual, or a choice?

EDIT: Just to let people know how popular this mod really is, about a week ago, the hit counter for my site got to a thousand smile.gif .

Craig's wheel conversion released. What do you guys think of the new release format? I'm going to be converting all functional links over to the new format unless there is an objection. Will take a few days as I'm in the middle of a work week. Can you guys think of any other columns I would need?

Love the new release format. Will you update the above? IEMine as I just didn't have the time to better organize mine!

Please do add release dates to the above links, that will make it much more organized smile.gif

As far as additional columns....

Maybe, a working/broken link column with a very noticeable Broken sign for those that do not work.

A column for "most recent of its type"
(By most recent I mean most recent, working, offical, completed file)
So if it is the most recent paths file for example it will say "most recent file" or whatever, and if it is not the most recent of its type you could instead put a link to the most recent. (this would be alot more work I guess)

Also, maybe a column for wether this update is required after installing the new release (once there is a new release of course)

Great ideas Blunted1. If a link is broken, it should either be repaired or removed. Also, since this is the official mod thread, the first post will always contain only the links that are currently THE version to have. So up to date is implied. Once a beta is released, I will make a column indicating which ones are included in the beta itself. As for release dates, I'll probably update those as I add new ones. Digging through for all the old release dates will take time. Maybe I'll get such time, but probably not.

@Mark: As stated, I'll be converting those links over. It will take a few days though.

Do you need Nomad v1 and v2 to install v3?
Because if those earlier versions aren't required, then maybe they could be removed from the list to prevent unnecessary downloading, or a note could be made to say that they aren't needed because there's a newer version.

Edit: Link to Skidz' Hidden Package Update is wrong, it's been shortened to
http://www.members.s.....ge update.zip when it should be http://www.members.s.....ge update.zip

Ok, ive just begun some work on making the first release, it could take a while though to put every file together.

All the latest files have already been compiled by yours truly, so as soon as the remaining files to complete the set have been released we can begin testing. wink.gif

The installation of the released files is going to be simple enough, delete /data, /models, /Icons & /TEXT then add our updated versions. Currently though we have a choice between two pause menu screens, so going with an automatic installer we could be given the ability to choose between the two straight away instead of having to make changes by hand later on, depending on preference of course.

Pics later. smile.gif

James, you don't need the previous version, just unzip v3 into /data and you're ready to go.

If an automatic installer is going to be done, I'd like to suggest that it make its own folder (EG: Grand Theft Auto Liberty City) and copy the needed VC files/folders over for the user.

No problem James, the links for the earlier fixes were taken down because they became integrated into the later more up to date versions. You can find the majority here, although the newer ones do have their own download link.

Outback, I think we're going to be limited to where the user has placed their original VC installation. A fresh install will be required though, so a suggestion could be made in the documentation for the default path to be named in a way that's favourable. smile.gif

Okay the thread has drifted a little, so in an attempt to bring it back in line I've updated my main page to include all the downloads I've released so far, hopefully this should cut a little searching through the links. smile.gif

I know someone who will be happy to hear that.

Bridge Fix : working
Shoreside : working
Portland: delete files, but refuses to install them (says that one file is missing)
EDIT: Fade Fix: installed, working, but I don't see the difference, what is it supposed to do?

happy killer.ip? tounge.gif

would it be possible to do a FULL texture fix (all in one?) because I'm not sure what files I need to get :\

As has been explained before, this forum has JUST reached the 27 hour mark as far as how long it's been open. Any info provided is going to be disorganized until we can all take the time to put it all into place. I would've edited the list myself already, but the forum got a green light right at the start of my work week. So I had to choose between open or delayed. I thought opened would be a bit better since there's no way I could sort everything out myself anyways. Because WO's release flickers in and out of existence and the fact that there are SO many downloads, I think the collection of DLs will remain a bit disorganized until the beta is arranged.

I suggested that earlier, but was still in the midst of doing it myself.....

Now that I have I am not so sure tounge.gif
I put every file that needed to be replaced in the GTA3.IMG into one pack and made one single install script and wow! wow.gif ..... I was there for just over twenty minutes watching the Mod installer process all those files.
Rebuilding the archive just added insult to injury tounge.gif
Atleast when you are manually installing twenty different updates you have something to do, that was almost tediously long and I am not running a slow machine by a longshot.

With a decent connection it is getting to the point where it would probably be quicker to just download the GTA3.IMG if anyone could host it tounge.gif

P.S. that did solve the problem of which fix do I need. Before, everytime I installed a patch or fix an older bug reappeared or random glitches appeared that disappeared and relocated everytime I died confused.gif so maybe it would be usefull to some.

Well it's taken a while coming, but I am glad you got it up and running... finally. tounge2.gif

At this stage the fix is more preventative than curative. When the problem does appear the normal scenery model's fade out of existence showing up the LOD models underneath... and this problem would only have gotten worse as more people start adding custom cars to the city. In other word's the problem with the 32bit textures would have needed to be addressed at some point, rather now than when we start getting reports that chunks of the city are disappearing.

That is just a raw list of all files posted in the old thread. Many (if not most) are out of date.

Just hang in there. A list of the most up-to-date files will be posted soon.

Ok, I haven't played or modded eitehr gta3 or vc in quite some time and now I come in here and get blown away, I cant even find the main thing to install it anymore, let alone worry about all of the mod things. Sigh. I am so confused, I am just gonna wait for a clear file or something to come out to tell me how to do it.

Hi Zacmaniac, welcome to LC. Before I go on I'd to remind you there is an Edit button if there's someting you'd like to add to your last post. Double posting is treated as spam and repeat offenders will be awarded bad karma stars.

At the moment it's still required that you have GTA:World Online's original release before you can add any of our updated files, because currently that's all we're providing. A compiled release will be available shortly that will have an easy installation method and contain all the files required to play in a single package. smile.gif

Crap! Sorry, didnt see that. Wont happen again. blush.gif Anyway, ok I just got almost all of the files but the ones with DAT, COL, or ones I didnt understand, like the vcfido, didnt understand that one unfortunately. Howerver, I decided to try to play it, having spent the last half hour inputting all of these into the game. But when I start it and click new game, it gets about 4/6ths of the way done and gets an unandled exception. If it would help, the only files I didnt install are :
EDIT: Now the only ones that are not installed are:
beta_dl
donaldlovescol
nomad3
vcfido

This sucks, I had been reading about this for most of today, now I try to go play and it wont! cryani.gif

Do you have GTA:WO's beta release? It is NEEDED to install GTA:LC and is the first thing you must install. It is an 80MB file (aprox) and is unavailable to the best of my knowledge as the only people provideing it are the GTA:WO team at their website.

Their website is easy enough to find (unlike signs of progress on their mod), but as I write this their downloads are still down (I just checked for you)

I am not sure how Demarest or "the team" would handle this one or what they would tell you to do confused.gif Maybe you will have to wait for one of them to respond.

Well, you'll need WO's release of PineCreek-Skidz's work as Blunted said. What I would do is install just that and see if you can get it to work. If so, THEN start adding our updates one at a time. Backup the files you're going to be modding before you do.

[EDIT] PLEASE NOTE that this is our official release thread, not support. We already have a separate thread for help with installation and such. Please post your issues there and let us have this thread for discussing our releases.

Zacmaniac also made me aware that Smithers page also has the automatic and manual install versions of the Beta needed to begin installing GTA:LC

http://www.maltastar...smithers/gtalc/

Dem, just a suggestion, maybe you should add links to where people can find the Beta on the first post of this thread so they know where to start.
