I'm rather obsesive about polys when I work, I hate having more then needed. Plus, using COL_IO for importing the *.3ds files, I'm limited to only about 750 per collision file, not the 2000 that the export scripts do. SHouldn't be a problem.

Good, 10 ID#s is more then enough, this one should take like four, maybe five, we'll see.

I know what you mean, I poly modelled my first island for GTA3 almost exclusively. It took ages longer than it should have, but the entire thing was only about 8000 polys. Bear in mind this had four buildings, all with interiors, bridges and docks.

Nice work, by the way.

Ok, I'd like to build a tunnel 'tween the "Forget-about-it" storage and the "Perfectly Legal" pawnshop. I've followed roads and lot boundries, which should help avoid hitting peoples basements.

Here's an outline of the mission ideas.

Mission One: Do something to purchase the SkateShop.

probable something to do with getting an insane stunt to impress the skaters.

Mission Two: Break into and over run "Forget-about-it"

the mob owns the storage, and the pawn shop. there'll be a PJC600 jump through a window in the warehouse, over the alley, and onto the roof of the storage, you to kill the gaurd, and open the gates, allowing your buddies to storm the place.

Mission Three: The tunnel.

There's a tunnel in one of the storage spaces leading to the pawn shop, that the mob's been using to move stolen goods. You find it, follow it, and take over the pawn shop.

I'm thinking about putting an illegal backroom casino on lot c2_r9 as well, would be cool if we could script slot machines or something.

Would also like to do a chop shop, I loved the find the vehicle and deliver it missions.

So, as usual, I scrapped everything this morning and started fresh. I'm pretty happy with this model, and this is most likely what's going to make it into the game. One of these days (hopefully next week), I'm going to hand it off to DanK42 so he can start scripting the misisons.

Happy modding

Taking shape, yes indeed. Realized last night that I was doing this all wrong. Instead of making buildings and putting ramps around, I'm designing a stuntpark and then making it look like buildings. Sketched this today, can't really do any more till I get it in game to test jump distances and heights. My girlfriend leaves for basic training (air force) on Monday, so I'll have nothing but free time to put into this till the end of summer.

With all the heated debate about tunnels, I'm going to abandon the idea of building under anyone elses lots. I figure if I use one, it'll be part of the drainage ditches, and I'll just script teleporters 'tween the two. Or do like others have said and build it on my property underground, and teleport over to the other lot.

I don't even want my two lots. I can't get my buildings finished, so consider me gone from this project. I was going to do something with die_cat_die, something really awesome, but that project died too. I'm sure when I'm able to finish my buildings there will be plenty of free space on new islands.
