I think I hate skyscrapers. I know I hate everything recycled from gta 3. If you want a slotmachine game, you should put the slotmachine on the lawn outside the skyscraper. notify.gif

Lol hahaha. One of us were gonna make that point sooner or later. Barton seems to be extremely paranoid about anything recycled from gta3, he forgot that there's people who actually model these things from scratch. biggrin.gif It's ok barton, we're not recycling anything, you can breathe now.

You mean except from ODIE's 3 rebuilt skyscrapers ? I didn't say Snow Racers skyscraper was recycled. I just said I don't like skyscrapers. Not even those created from scratch. And ODIE is working on another building from gta 3 now. This one won't even be rebuilt (except for a wall or two that needs closing).

Anyway, I'm out again. Atleast for a few hours. Maby a week. Who knows. Nobody cares anyway. It's not like this is a community project. Nobody are discussing anything.

Just to let everyone know that Snow Racer has kindly invited me to help out with concepts and designs for this property. My first suggestion is that you should check in the "Expanding Myriad" topic to see about your linking tunnel, it needs a property on the yet-to-be-completed island which it links to. tounge.gif

(EDIT) Here's the first change I've proposed:

Makes the tunnel entry MUCH cleaner and won't require drastic editing of paths.ipl, although some will be required. I'll probably be the one who sorts that out, the tunnel may have to be set up by had as there's no radar image for it and it's not accurate enough doing them using the backround-image method eshan's editor uses. sad.gif

I won't be able to supply any more designs or suggestions whilst I'm banned from the PC. If you make the map model alterations which my suggestion requires, I'll edit the car paths to use the tunnel and will stop them trying to enter the tunnel from near TRN's property. That be quite a way off, though. dontgetit.gif

As you can see, he's changed the tunnel to be 4-lanes wide. IMHO this makes the junction look seriously unbalanced but I agree that the tunnel does need to be big as it would be the major communiting route between the residential and commercial districts. Two different people own the side to the bottom of this image; it's the special bridge to the illSUB area, so I don't think it can be re-developed to make the end of that road 4 lanes wide.

My general intention for the blank area is to have a more decorative building placed at an angle from the road. This means that the land it sits on will have to be used with more imagination, making it less repetitive. It's just next door to the recylcled corporate statue thing Odie recylced from GTA3, so I figure it should be quite modern with its architecture.

I also think the big concrete hood at the tunnel entrance should be re-developed so that it has grass over it, with gentle slopes on each side with flower beds. Maybe some rocks too, really make it like modern corporate landscapers do.


Any other ideas? smile.gif

There's already loads of underground car parks. There's also a car park in front of the skyscrapers in the left of that image. The 4-lane tunnel runs underneath the property as well. I came up with this rough, initial idea last night:

The big kite-shaped building is just a rough base. I intend to give it somed exposed structural features, perhaps some big metal frames and suspension bars around the outside? Very modern and stylish. smile.gif
The dotted line around the hood to the tunnel is where I suggest the corporate landscaping should be, roughly. The circle areas are little rocky pools set into the side of the slope and the circle on top is a fairly steep ridge, so that you can do huge jumps if you get a good approach. If myself and Snow Racer can get the geometry right, it could become a unique stunt bonus which makes you land in/on one the building balconies, or lets you smash through a window. Or something. rolleyes.gif

The collection of odd shapes next to the car park are the small shops SR wanted. The dot is a fountain. The road to the car park is quite narrow and has no pavements. I think I might have it have a junction which heads behind the building, sort of like an "employee's" area, or a supply access type thing. Again, I havn't worked out the detail.

(EDIT) I really need time to work out the detail of these sections, this is very preliminary - only a few hours of my thought has gone into it so far. This is a very complicated area because of the landscaping, the cutting-edge architecture and the odd-shaped buildings. blush.gif

After some confusion over quite what the frames should be like, I've made this simple model:

This is just the top half of one of the frames. The bottom half would be mirrored underneath, with the duplicate bars removed. This means there would be two triangular pyramids (white) sharing a triangular base (black) to create a class spaceframe type of structure. smile.gif

The bars are joined in large spheres, not open like they are here. I can make a model of this using blu-tack and some of these black rods if need be. blush.gif

At the bottom will be a hexagonal block with sloped sides, allowing a great platform for stunts as the 6 faces give the opportunity to jump in lots of directions - including straight through the frame! tounge.gif

Looks good Snow Racer, but won't it get a bit congested with two single lanes of traffic, and two 4 lanes.
If cars from the 4 lane road are pulling out into the 2 lane road it may cause trouble.
