@ SeBsZ- Actually, if you click the lot map in the first post, it opens up a larger version with all the .dff names printed on them. It makes it easy to claim, and easy to find the file. wink.gif Good idea about coloring in the claimed bits. I'll try to do so every couple of days.

@ GTAuron- Unfortunately, trains won't work in VC. At least that's what one of the programmers told me. Apparently all the code for them was used for the additional planes or something. But it may be possible to muck in something sort of tram-ish via the scm, however that would require someone with more coding skills than me.

@ Inky- Righto, I was just about to go pop in a table of lot registrations. Shall I put that down as The Bunker then, or did you have something else in mind?

@ Steve- A villa would be perfectly okay on the little island if you want. I was thinking it could a sorta fancy mixed commercial/residential mini area. I'll put you down for c2_r10 now, but if you want to switch back, give me a shout. And yea, a magic php site would be just perfect. If I can find time between working on this map, FW, Berlin, and my various web jobs, I'll see what I can do. tounge2.gif



Oh yea, I've been playing around with car paths and Odie's beta path script off and on all night, and I've managed to get some vehicles driving around properly. It's less than 1/4 done, and there's some buggy parts still, but there's a number of working roads and intersections- one of which has a functional 4-way traffic light. The path file also has the set of ped paths Cerbera made which circle the whole outter sidewalk. If you'ld like to try it out, download it right here. Just pop it into your data\maps folder, and add these lines into illcom.ipl for the stop lights:

No, first I'd like to make the skyscraper, I hope it is not so much work. And when I finished it and the lot on the smal island is still free, I'll probably make the villa.

And if I can find time between working on this map, FW, my site, and my various tools, I'll definitely help you with the site! tounge2.gif

Illspirit, you should make some rules for this project! E.g., everyone is allowed to build as high as he wants (as long as it is realistic), but must stick to the borders of his lot, also in the air (so on a small lot you can't build a tall tower with a huge disc/sphere on top; or build a normal house with a huge underground area). Of course it is allowed when the "neighbour" agrees.
Further anyone should make a LOD model for his lot. Otherwise either the models disappear too fast or there are too much polys on the screen so the game slows down.

And there goes the next problem: which object IDs to use? We have an empty VC, so there are tons of unused object IDs. My suggestion: Give each user (each lot) three IDs, one for the main object, one for its LOD and one for the datail/interior model. You should change the default IDE like this:

This will need IDs 2000 - 2298 for the first island. And if single users need more for their lot, they will get them from 2300 and above.

I had another idea: anyone who is creative enough should think of street names for all the streets on the map, like "Rockstar Drive" or "Vercetti Ave". Then Illspirit can make street signs and place them on every junction. The lots should get house numbers, so people can write them on their houses or mailboxes, like "Steve M. - 12 San Andreas Road" wink.gif . Wouldn't that make it even more like a city? smile.gif

Looks nice,

I think it is a good idea to color in all the lots that you have taken, so that people know what has been used. Every once in a while Illcom will hopefully smile.gif edit the first post and put an up to date map. If you want to claim your bit, save target as the last image in this topic, and color it in with RED please. Then save it and try to upload it somewhere, then provide a link. This will make it easy and gives everybody a nice overview:

I use my property to place a piece of GTA-BERLIN on it and make some commercial to get more modders for our project.

Very nice... This thing is gonna be filled soon! That would be great, and then combine it into one mod. I will be willing to combine it all, if ya want me to, in the end of course...

In the meanwhile people need to experiment with paths and the radar. And of course most importantly, we need buildings!

Lot 9 is for you Joey, the map will be updated as soon as possible. You can download the mod in the first post. Keep in mind that of course there are no buildings on it yet!

    i tried to mod the carsin it but i dont think it worked for some reason i dont know i think i might of dont something wrong i also tried to edit the main.scm and that didnt do anything eithor it gave me an error i haddent seen befor.....on answers?
